Best time to go, weather-wise?

Just thought i'd get plenty of ideas!

I'm thinking about going to WDW again sometime in 2013, probably with a large-ish party, but none of us can actually agree on when the best time is to actually go! :lmao:

I've only ever been in late October & late November.

October - Halloween week (so busy!) but the weather was lovely, really hot on some days but i think it was above average that time we went.

November - not warm enough (well for me, it's a bit cold at night aswell), so i'm not sure about the begining?

We were thinking about early May but some of our party aren't keen on the idea of love bugs, so i think that's out of the question now.

We don't want to go during any major holidays - summer, easter, spring break (varies, i know) & probably halloween.

We want weather that is hot enough to go on water rides & sunbathe.

So, when do YOU think is the best time to go? :)

:tink:

September i went last year the 12th till the 1st if october. It was really hot some days though. Still warm on a night.

Really low crowds aswell, walked on most things bar the biggies TSM etc. Did Space mountain 3 times in a row. I wanted to do a 4th but DGF felt sick :lmao:.

My vote is september abit hotter then you will want but atleast it wont be cold ;)

We were thinking about Sept also! But some of my to be 100% confirmed party said the love bugs are out in force then aswell (no pleasing some people :rotfl:) so i'm not sure.

So maybe late Sept/early Oct might be a good time? Also the Fantasyland Expansion might be finished by then which will be a bonus. :yay:

Hi:goodvibes

This year will be our 6th trip in September - perfect weather! Hot, little rain, warm evenings and can't say we have ever had a problem with love bugs:thumbsup2 Parks are amazingly quiet rarely queue for anything more than 10 minutes:cool1:

Sx

Another vote for September. We visited the last 2 weeks in September 2009 and doing the same this year. Didn't notice any 'lovebugs'!

Of the months we have been October has been out favourite, hope to try Sept one year.

Thankyou for replying, that's very good to know! :thumbsup2

Thankyou for replying :), & i'm not bothered about love bugs it's just a few in my party that want to go are a bit 'iffy' with lovebugs & they've had a few problems with them in the past in Florida. :confused3

Looks like Sept/Oct is going to be a good time then, i'll definitely suggest it to everyone! :thumbsup2:teeth:

Honestly, May is not a bad month to visit at all.

All my trips have been May, bar one, which was April. The weather is good, late 80's, not too sticky. We've never even noticed the love bugs that people talk about, maybe we're all too excited to be bothered :lmao:

There's the Star Wars weekends too later in May, so there's a chance for any fans to get some Star Wars action.

We're hoping to head back May 2013 too for our wedding trip :thumbsup2

Yes i would prefer May - just afer Easter & just before American's break up for their Summer Holidays, but i think it's going to take ALOT of persuasion. :rotfl:

But going late 2013 will probably be better due to the Disney Resorts going down in price & the arrival of the new Fantasyland Expansion which i just cannot wait for! :goodvibes :cheer2:

But that just means i've got to wait over 2 years. That's going to be torture. :(

october to still be able to swim.....and for me, november....november was too cold for us to swim, but the parks were WONDERFUL in the cool weather!!!!!!

My vote goes to October too! First two weeks, we absolutely love :lovestruc

Have had gorgeous weather there everytime we have been (every year since 2003) in October, low crowds in the first two weeks, nice and hot for the water parks and not humid! :thumbsup2

Arrrggghhh, I wish I had a ticker for this year........:sad2: Ah well, theres still time yet I suppose! Haha....:rolleyes1

October and November get my vote, best combination of weather and value for money with flights and accomadation, just be sure to avoid half term weeks and thanksgiving

today. The weather is great.

Except OP also said no Love Bugs which, while not at their worst level are definitely out and noticable in some places right now.

That said, with all the limitations holidays, warm evenings, no bugs there really isn't much left imo. Love Bugs come twice a year but aren't a precise science - they don't go 'oooh 1st September, time to fly baby!', alot depends on the weather previously as to when they'll become active. I've been there in both September and October and had Love Bugs, even though their 'season' only lasts around 2 weeks.

Mostly we always visit in the Autumn as it's our favourite (and we LOVE the Food and Wine Festival), however I'm literally just back and the weather has been gorgeous. There were Love Bugs though, but only noticable in places (pools, car parks, bus stops for some reason), even at their very worst, I'd never not travel due to them, they are a minor inconvenience - they don't even bite!

So I'd vote for early May or late Sept/early October myself :)

Thanks for replying! Good to know there's low crowds but lovely 'just right' weather in early October! :thumbsup2

Thanks for replying. I was hoping the flights would be cheaper, we'll be flying with Virgin Atlantic & they're not exactly cheap. & yes we don't want to go during the last week - 'Halloween' week, too crowded! :)

I think there's always going to be love bugs, i'm sure i've seen the odd one in November before. :confused3 But if i suggest the first 2 weeks of October hopefully there won't be as many. Like i said it's not me that's bothered about them it's just my boyfriend's Mother has a massive fear of bugs & hasn't had the best of luck with lovebugs in Florida before so she'd rather not go when they're most active.

We'll probably be renting DVC points & staying at BLT for atleast 1 of the 2 weeks (not sure about the other week yet) & October seems to have more availability. But if the new Fantasyland has been completed by the time we go then it might be unusually busy, so who knows.

:tink:

The last two weeks in March were great weather wise when we went a couple of years ago. It wasn't too crowded either. All the water parks were open and it was lovely and warm.

When they do their big swarm thing (and one of the pictures on that page is a WDW busstop) they are really an utter pain in the rear. They just get everywhere, you open the car door to get in and some will hop in with you too, you walk upstairs and some come through the door with you.

Just for extra annoyance you can't even easily flick them off as, well, to put not too find a point on it, they're so delicate they can basically explode on contact.

But, I'll still take them any day over the mossies ;)
