Best time to go to DW in November?

Hi every one...Opinions on when to go in November? I was thinking right after Halloween..what do YOU think?

Immediately following Halloween would be alright, though the week directly after Thanksgiving is good too.

Just FYI the week after Halloween from 11/1-11/10 - is the marathon, followed by Jersey Week followed by Veterans Day Weekends. Crowds are NOT light.

Only problem with going later is that I work retail and the holiday rush will be on. I've never been as late as November..do you think the Halloween crowds will be gone?

Our first trip was the full week before Thanksgiving. Crowds were definitely higher than we expected. According to TouringPlans, our Magic Kingdom day was predicted at a level 4 and ended up at a level 10! That was in 2015.

HOWEVER, we had good plans and managed just fine. I really loved the weather that time of year and it got us into the Christmas spirit just in time for the holiday preparations at home.

We've found the days after Veteran's Day are fairly quiet. Plus the Christmas decorations start going up. Done it in 2012 and 2016.

We always do our Holiday trip the week after Thanksgiving. This year with Thanksgiving falling on the 4th week instead of the 3rd we are going the week before Thanksgiving.

We always go week of and after Thanksgiving. Everything is Christmas and it’s Amazing!!

We went Thanksgiving week several years ago, and decided we would never do that again. My husband and I went last year the week after Thanksgiving and it was much better. Keep in mind, there will still be waits for rides, etc.

We went the week before Thanksgiving 2017. The weather was great (even needed a light jacket some mornings), and the crowds were low to moderate. It was a great time to go.

We were there during the period you're thinking about, from Nov. 3-8, 2018. The first part of our trip, the Sunday and Monday, were crowded. (Not Christmas-level crowded, but definitely not light. I think the Monday crowds were a bit of an aberration--MK closed at 4:30, so everyone without hoppers did what we did and went to EPCOT that day.) But Tuesday through Thursday was fantastic. Low crowds, great weather, Food and Wine Festival. It's also the break between the Halloween and Christmas parties (first MVMCP was Thurs 11/8 last year), so there were more nights where MK was open past 6 and you could see HEA. We left Friday morning, but I think I heard that crowds grew again during the long weekend right after we left. We liked it enough to go back the same time this year, though it's a shorter trip so we'll be leaving just as those lower crowd mid-week days begin.

That said, we're locked in by school schedules. That November week is the closest my family has to a low crowd opportunity to visit the parks; our other vacations are all over major holidays when it's much more crowded. I wouldn't hesitate to go the 1st week of November given our restrictions, but if our schedule was more open I might be able to find a better week.

The first week of november has on certain years been "Jersey Week" and a week to avoid.
We have gone several times the week of Thanksgiving and been surprised at the lower crowd levels.
And love to see the Christmas decorations up already.

We love going in November and have gone the week with Veteran’s Day in at and the week before Thanksgiving. We found the Veteran’s week busier and prefer the week before Thanksgiving. We are going that week this November. Now that Food and Wine is lasting longer, I am guessing it might be a little busier than usual, but I like food and wine so I’m glad we will get to be there for it.

We went the week after Thanksgiving last year, too, and it was AMAZING. No crowds, easy to grab extra FP, and we were able to get every dining reservation we wanted. I would definitely go that week again but this year we wanted to go during Halloween season.

I wouldn't worry about Halloween crowds. It's not a school holiday.

We like the weekend after Thanksgiving, early December, but I have to admit, the week after Halloween was quite nice. Look out for Jersey week though and the marathon in early November.

The week before the thanksgiving week is my favorite. There's a slight calm between the busy thanksgiving week and jersey/veterans day holiday week. This year thanksgiving is later so there's a week without a holiday, November 18-26. The weather in November makes it a perfect month to visit.
