Best time to go from end of april to mid may

When is the best time to go from last week of April to mid-May? The food and wine festival is around the end of April. Is it better to go the 1st or 2nd week of May. We would like to minimize lines if possible.

I'd say either of those would be OK. Just remember Mother's Day though in May.

Shouldn't be TOO busy any of the time frame you are thinking about since school won't be out yet. Even in July when we went it wasn't THAT busy, by maximizing our time and using FPs we hardly stood in line at all.

I would go when the Food and Wine Festival is going on. That entire time is ok except Friday nights, Saturday after noon, and Sunday later in the day. DLR guests get into the park one hour early which helps you to beat the people at the rope drop. You can pick up a few rides and be near the fast pass machine to get one. Check refurbs for DLR as DCA is regoing a five year remodeling and an addition of a DVC wing to GC.
