Best time to go Feb 20-23 2024 or Feb 22-25?

We are planning our first trip to Disneyland. We have a choice of either coming midweek Feb 20-23 (park days 21,22,23) or over the weekend Feb 22-25 (park days 23,24,25). Do weekends get a lot of local crowds? One consideration is the fireworks only being on the weekend? Hotel rates are higher for the weekend - that's ok for us, as long as it's not a proxy for expected crowds. We'll have Genie+. Kids are 6 and 9.

Mondays have become the busiest days at the parks, so all of your dates are safe from that. Locals usually come after work on weeknights or on the weekends, but February is an off-peak season, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you want fireworks, you will have to come on the weekend though. It will likely only be projections for weeknights during that period.

thanks. so for rough crowd-level expectations during the ride (mostly worried about wait time for rides) - it should be ok either way weekday vs weekend that week? if that's the case, then being able to see fireworks would be a plus for the weekend choice.

I personally wouldn't worry about the difference in crowds. It won't be a massive difference between weekdays/weekends, and you said you're getting Genie+ so any heavier weekend crowds will be combatted by that

That is a really busy week due to many schools in NorCal and other areas having the week off (ski week). I don’t know that there will be a huge difference between weekdays and weekends because of that.

These days I think every week is a week that some school district has a week off.

Locals don't usually buy Genie +, so that should help with wait times.
