Best time to do Savi's

I have two reservations at Savi's - one at 10am and one at 3pm. From a touring standpoint, which is the better timeslot? I am thinking the 3pm since the park will likely be more crowded?

Pros and cons to each (hopefully someone with more experience could chime in)

Pros to an earlier time slot
-you’ll have a choice of more stock (limited parts may or may not be sold out as the day goes on)
Cons
-you’ll be carrying your saber all day. I’ve read you can store them somewhere but it can be hit or miss. You can send them to the front of the park but then you’ll miss cool pics with your saber.

We also have time slots for first thing in the morn and then some for the afternoon and although parts may be sold out I think we’re going to stick with our later slots.

I agree, I try to do anything that requires a reservation (Savi’s, Oga’s, Droid Depot) in the afternoon so I will have something to do that doesn’t require a wait when the park is more crowded (and be indoors during the hottest part of the day). Plus, you won’t have to carry your lightsaber around, figure out what to do with it on rides, etc.

But these days there’s also the possibility of parts running out. Depending on when your trip is, though, maybe the new parts will already be in!

I'm piggybacking on this thread...

We're going in later April (NOT around Easter) and staying onsite: I have HS booked for our arrival day (transferring from US that morning so planning for ~4p park arrival) and our 4th day (all day w/ midday pool break).

I'm debating between booking ~6p Savis/DD on the 1st day (worth it for nighttime pictures?) OR booking ~12n on the 4th day (so we can also do the Visa picture with them since that is only 11-4).

I guess, we could bring them back into the park that 2nd day if it nighttime experience was worth it.

My 14yo will also want to do the bounty hunter thing; I'm not sure if he'll get more out of it with the lightsaber.

Any advice?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's going to be too dark at 6pm in April since we spring forward again in March. Either time will work for you and I don't think that a lightsaber would affect the Bounty Hunter "game". If you think he will be more immersed with the land, then have him do that after he gets his saber. I will say the bag can get annoying to carry around all day.

My thinking was that we either do it on the 1st day (later arrival and we'll be there until close so it will get dark) or during the day on the 4th day (and bring it back to the hotel during the midday break so no night pics).

Personally I would do the 3pm, if you do at 10am you miss out on rope dropping a ride unless very short wait.

We ended up bringing ours back into the parks after dark on another night for photos. They came out really well and the photos are a highlight of our trip souvenirs. I'd schedule later in the day so you didn't have to tote them around all day and won't have to return with them at night.
