So we're looking at doing a split stay next June between CBR and FS. We will do 2 nights at CBR and 2 nights at FS. On the day we are checking out of CBR we will be at AK (probably). Is it best to check out on our way out to the park or take a break and go back to the resort to check out?
Will CBR hold our luggage if we check out early? If we drive and check out at say 8:00 a.m. will we still have free parking at the theme park?
We've never done a split stay so I need all you pros advice please.

We haven't "checked out" of a WDW resort in 8 years or so. There's no need to. We just call housekeeping on our way out to let them know the room is empty.

Yup.

Yup. You are a resort guest until Midnight on check out day.

Check out is by 11am which means your belongings need to be out of the room by then.
Disney doesn't really check out in the traditional way.
Meaning you don't have to go to the front desk or anything.
You could store your belongings with bell services and go retrieve them later that day if you'd like to go to AK early and have nowhere else to put your stuff between then and when you go to the other hotel.
Although having a car I'd just put my belongings in my car.
I believe Disney transfers luggage for you if you're staying at another Disney reosrt but you're off property so they won't.
Yes you get free parking at the parks until midnight.

We prefer to clear the room on our way out to whatever we are doing that day.

You say FS....as in Four Seasons?

Yes, Four Seasons. :duck:

Thanks for all the replies. We're not sure if we'll be driving yet but if we do we may have some items that would not store well in the heat of a car all day.

No tomatoes here, we enjoyed our stay there (anniversary splurge a few years ago).

I only asked because Disney will transfer bags from Disney resort to Disney resort, but I'm 99.9% certain Four Seasons falls outside of being eligible for that service.

Most folks will likely recommend you store you bags at CBR and just circle back there at some point later in the day before heading to FS due to safety of items in your car, heat as you mentioned, etc. Bell Services at CBR can store any items that may need refrigeration, if needed.

Another option could be to head over to FS first thing, drop your bags there, then head to the park you're planning on going to for the day.

Enjoy your first split. :-)

I thought about going to FS to drop our bags off that morning too but I’m not sure how much time that would take away from maximizing our morning in the park with a toddler. I’m thinking since we’ll need a midday break we can go to FS at that time. Even if a room isn’t ready they have quiet spaces around the resort that would allow our little one to take a nap.

Call the FS. Ask if they can transfer your luggage from CBR. FS is all about service. Not sure what it would cost but I'd be surprised if they couldn't get it done.
