We will be flying out of MSP next June.

I looked at some airline but most say it is still too far to book out, so we wait.

I was wondering when is a good time to look for good airfare for next June.

We got in on the excellent deal of $137.50 for our trip last month. I would LOVE another deal like that but I am not counting on it.
I would like to got $200.00 or less though! LOL
Is that possible?

I think it is possible to get something RT for $200 or less.

I usually book my WDW accomodations 11 months in advance. Then I start checking for airfare. I usually check 2 or 3 times a week until I find something. I learned the hard way that it is best not to be too greedy when you have to fly out of MSP. I have a figure in mind that I consider reasonable and affordable and when I see an airfare listed for that price, I jump on it right away! When I don't the good fare vanishes and I am usually sorry.

I used that process for our December 2003 trip and managed to get $201.50 RT on Delta. I wasn't quick enough to get the $137.50 prices that some others got.

I really prefer to fly non-stop on NWA if I can get a reasonable price (don't care for charters as we have had bad luck with some of those). If a schedule change or cancellation negatively impacts our trip, NWA has the most options. Right now, I think I would go non-stop if I could find a fare of $250 or less, including all taxes and fees.

If I have to stop and change planes, I am willing to pay up to $200 RT, but I have been able to get $160 fairly often on Delta. I like the Delta flights than use Cincinnati as a hub. It's a nice, clean and relatively small airport. Easy to navigate. I am also hearing good things about Midwest and they have a hub in Milwaukee. If the price and times are good, I'll give just about anyone a try, but I prefer not to go through Chicago or Atlanta (both too busy and I always worry a lot about weather for both).

Good luck with your search. I do think it will be quite a while before you see the good fares for June 2004, though.

Thanks!
I know we didn't get our tickets for our June 2003 trip until March/April (whenever Delta put out the $137.50 deal)
We were lucky & grabbed some more tickets for our upcoming December trip too :)
So I have been a little spoiled with airfare.

Right now I am not buying anything over $200.00 (OK, may go up to $205, but you get the picture)

I do agree with using Cincinnati has the layover instead of Atlanta. On our trip last month we had Atlanta has a layover going down & although it wasn't THAT bad, it was HUGE!
On the way home we stopped in Cincinnati & it was much more quicker to get around.

I hate waiting but I guess I can hope the saying is true....Good things come to those who wait ;)
Maybe I can hope for an airfare for less then $150.00! :p

I agree with Carol's post above. I also start checking with the major airlines at 330 days out. When I find non-stop flights from Cleveland or Pittsburgh to MCO for $220 or less, I jump on them.
We also book our DVC resorts at 11 months out, so we can check daily for flight prices on the internet.
If you can sign up for Travelocity's e-mail alerts for 4-5 designated departure cities and they will inform you if the prices drop.

Just check Orbitz and others on a multiple daily basis and you should be able to snag a good deal. I do like others and check as soon as flights are available.
