Best time to buy American Girl Doll

My dd5 has recently fallen in love with the AG dolls. She has been getting the catalog for 2 years (great marketing strategy) and now is desperate for one. Does anyone know when the best time to buy a doll with free shipping or any discounts? I am resigned to spending a lot of money for a doll but I do want to try to get a good deal.

If it is the key thing for her Christmas don't wait till to close to Christmas, especially if it is one of the limited edition dolls they do sell out, and on popular things they will get back ordered.

Free shipping is one of the best offers around now, now and then they have codes for $10 off any order larger than $30 but shipping for a doll is $10.95 anyway. And the good codes come out after the holidays!

Which of the dolls is she looking at? If she wants one of the classic dolls that's been around for years, like Molly, you can get some on ebay for a little less than retail but just be careful. A few years ago I got one from a seller that said the doll was "New in box" but the box didn't have a lid!

AG was my obsession before I discovered the DIS! This reminds me, I should eBay some of the dolls I picked up when I was going through that stage.

If she is like most girls it will be which doll she wants first!! They are like potato chips it is hard to stop with just one. (my DD ended up with 4)

UGH, why can't I get the code to work? It keeps telling me it's invalid

Go to www.shopping-bargains.com and search for American Girl and go through there link. I just tried it and it took the shipping off. It is the same code so it is another way to try it. Or sometimes if you are on firefox it may not work so try internet explorer, etc. Good Luck I always get so frustrated when I can't get a code to work.

if you copy and paste the code, it usually won't work. try actually typing it in.
