Sorry, newbie here and thinking of taking my first cruise.

I don't have the best sealegs and wondered when is the best time of year when the ocean is at it's calmest?

Anyone know when the waves aren't so bad?

Thanks bunches :)

We did the eastern in May and I dont believe the waves ever got over 8-9 feet. I brought bonine, but we never even came close to needing it. I dont know if this is indicative of May or if we were just lucky. :D

The best time to cruise is when schools are in session - the rates are reasonable. I have cruised in September, October, and February. February was great - get away from single digit weather in the northeast. Florida was in the 60s, Key West in the 70s and the Caribbean in the 80s. In Sept and Oct it was in the 80s and 90s all the time. Almost too hot at times. One of our October cruises was diverted due to a Hurricane, but that did not spoil the fun, they just took the ship where the storm was not.

To sum it up, there is no bad time to cruise.

We cruise in May 2002, we are cruising again this May and booking again for April 30 next year....so we really like May LOL!

Hi, there! It looks like you're going back for another February cruise. We're booked for next February also. Just wondering, are the cruising crowds the same as the park crowds in February--seasonal?? The parks in early February are so NOT crowded--this past February we were allowed to stay on the rides when we returned and go around again as many times at we liked...Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain to name a few...they just let us stay on... It was cool...

So my question again is: Are the cruises booked for that time of year?? More or less people than September or October???

Hi,

We have cruised once in May & in November! May was better!! November weather wasn't too great.

ok thank you for your replies.

Some one told me that Jan-Feb-Mar was the best time to cruise because the water was so smooth.

I was thinking of trying a 3 night cruise to the Bahama's for my first time, just incase I can't handle the wave action.

I have heard that the stabilizers really aren't all that great on the big ships and that you can feel the ship rockin and rollin.
