What time of year will you be most likely to have availability booking at 7 months? Does this vary depending on the resort? Like when food and wine is happening the EPCOT resorts are difficult to book, but the monorail ones may not be? I would love some general info or resort specific. Thanks!

Yes, availability will vary depending on the time of year you want to book, the resort, type of room, etc...
Here is a link to a chart about "predicted DVC booking patterns". PLEASE note the chart is from 2019, pre-covid but it may give you some insight. The back log of points due to covid shut down has increased booking difficultly. Good Luck

Late August - early September has offered a lot of options at 7 months for us. One of our last trips (pre-pandemic) was a week in a BCV studio first week of September.

Ahhh yes. The hot rainy hurricane season. Can’t imagine why it’s available!!! Usually some periods in January and February are available at 7 months too, due to cooler weather.

Mid September to mid January are some of the busiest times for DVC and many book at 11 months, During that time, 7 month bookings are difficult.

The rest of the year it’s dependent on what you want and where, The big of SSR, OKW, and AKV are good bets outside of the fall time I mentioned,

It also depends on rooms size. 1 bedrooms will give you more options than studios will.

Sometimes, adjusting by one week can be a big difference as well as spending time on the website a lot piecing together the trip you want.

We’ve always had luck mid January and early May at Grand Cali. At WDW though we pretty much always book at 10 or 11 months at our home resorts.

With covid right now a lot is difficult to predict. Many members accumulated large amounts of banked and regular points and are now using most of them, with the result that 7-month out demand for all times is higher than usual.

However, in normal times, what there has been are two distinct DVC demand seasons at WDW: (a) the high to extremely high demand time from late Sep to Marathon weekend in Jan; (b) the more moderate season from the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan to late Sep (yes, it is not necessarily holiday times versus others -- e.g., first two weeks of Dec make the Easter weeks look like the slowest of off-seasons -- and the DVC patterns are not the same as Disney in general patterns at WDW). Typically, it is much harder to get rooms during the high demand season at 7-months out than it is during the moderate demand season. For reviewing what studios,1BRs and 2BRs are typically open, mostly open or mostly filled, or filled at 7-months out throughout the year, go here and study the charts that begin a little ways down the first page: https://www.disboards.com/threads/p...-bd-charts-september-2019-2-bd-added.3689931/

It was a great trip...Dorian made it so things were very empty and provided a nice breeze. Quiet pool to ourselves a lot of the time, hardly any lines, wonderful! Lol.

I must have lucked out then for the 3 trips we booked those months for stays at SSR (no surprise I guess) and BWV and BCV (got a
1 BR and 2 BR respectively right at 7 month mark)
aha, that's the key. 1BRs are easier, especially.

I find that most people asking about ease of 7 months are rarely asking about 1BR availability.

i feel like 1Br should have availability at 7 months at most places. If you only want a studio you have to book at 11 months
