Best time of day to visit Trader Sam's Grotto?

I heard you get a number or on a wait list if it’s too busy?
Is there in door and outdoor seating?
Can you at least walk up to the bar and grab a drink to go?
Thank you

You can't enter the indoor area at all, until you are allowed in. It's very small, only a few tables and they are shared. Also note that you won't be seated. You will be allowed in, and there may be some waiting once you are inside to grab a seat. BUT, there *is* outdoor seating, which is very nice.

Apps are definitely just app-sized. Fine for a snack, not so much for a meal.

We got there shortly after opening time last July and didn't have to wait at all. Didn't order any food (we went in for a drink before our 'Ohana reservation) so I can't speak to the apps.

We were there in April. Got in line and on the list about 30 minutes before it opened. There were about 30 in front of us, some with bigger parties . There were about 10 after us that got in. They call your name and let you in the room. You have to try and find a place to sit. The first group left at 5:30. So if you don't get in right away, it could be quite a wait.
As I understand, after 8pm, it is adult only.
It was a lot of fun and worth going to.

Last time we visited Trader Sam's one of the bartenders told us that Thursday was one of the busiest nights because it is Cast Member payday. Not sure if this is still the case but every little tip helps:). Hope you have a great time! We loved it.

 Odd. "Work" is about the last place I'd want to be when I'm off -Disney or not. Which is one reason I'd never seek employment there.
