Other than during the parades, -- we've gotta see those! -- what do you guys think is the best time to visit Toontown for the shortest waits? -- I'm not into standing in line to meet characters, but I know my niece is going to want to...especially for the Princesses. I was thinking of hitting Toontown early...when they open, but maybe lunchtime is better or early evening around dinnertime? :confused3

Toon Town is fun at opening - it opens one hour later than the park - because characters come out to the rope and walk with you - Goofy even rides Barnstormer with the first ride of the day! The princesses for some reason do not open until another hour after Toon Town opens though. So you could ride Goofy, meet Mickey, meet Minnie & friends, play in Donald's boat and Mickey & Minnie's houses, then hopefully get in line for the princesses.

Any time I've tried later in the day it's been packed, but I've never tried "LATE" in the day, so don't know about that.

I've heard that late at night it gets empty. However, I'm not sure whether Princesses would be there at that time.

One day last September, we did all the Fantasyland rides at 9am then got to Toontown for opening at 10am. We rushed past the characters who did rope drop (and the crowd) and were the first ones at the character greeting area. DD was 16 months and was overwhelmed to walk into a room with Tigger, Pooh and Eeyore! THe CM said as nobody else was there yet we could take our time.

DD did not know who to hug first, Tigger won! We got fabulous photos and I will never forget that wonderful look on DD's face.

Afterwards we went back round the queue and got other characters, then played in the little playpark. After that DD was so exhausted she fell asleep in the stroller and did not even wake when we took her to the Baby Care Center to change her diaper. We have a cute pic of her asleep on the big padded change table.

Aiming to do this again in May. It was very special.

Our DS5 has always been a night owl and we find late night to be great at Toontown. It's deserted! Especially the character! He danced with them all!

When you say late night, how late do you mean? We will be staying at VWL so could probably go to MK for dinner then head to Toontown. What time do you reckon it thins out there?

Thanks for the tip!

We saw Princesses right before the fireworks, waited all of three minutes. As we left toontown and headed towards space mountain by the back walkway, fireworks started. It was kind of neat, we were the only ones on the walkway and saw all the fireworks. We've seen them before so the kids weren't super interested in seeing them again in front of the castle.

I've done it a couple times towards the end of the night right before closing. Really short lines! :) Sometimes the characters are outside too! :)

Mmmmmm, interesting...we plan on doing a night at MK as an extra anyway...sounds like it'll be the perfect time to hit Toontown!
(I didn't realize the characters are there all the way until closing!)
You guys really helped my itinerary planning! :cool1: Thanks!

We also have been late at night. We were the only ones !! I believe it was also right before the fireworks !!

We were about an hour or so before closing. I think it was around 9pm that particular night.
