DS3 and I are giving my husband a one night stay at WDW for Father's Day, and we will be going to one park. Because it is his gift, DH gets to choose which park to go to, and he wants to go to Epcot. We have only previously gone to Epcot without my son, and spend most of our time eating and drinking our way through the World Showcase. What are the things at Epcot that small children seem to enjoy the most, besides the Journey into the Imagination thing (not sure what exactly that is called, I call it the Figment ride)?

We went last year with my 3 year old DS. He really enjoyed the KidCot stations where the kids make masks. At each country you look for the station and he can add a stamp and other things onto his carnival mask. That was about it for him for World Showcase but it did keep his busy. Other than that he was on the look-out for characters. We were lucky enough to find Mulan in China so he was on Cloud 9!

In the front of the park, he loved the tasting station for the different sodas, liked Universe of Energy and Honey! I Shrunk the Audience. We also watched the movie in the Land with Timon, Simba and Pumba. We missed the Living Seas and Interaction with Crush but they are definitely things we will hit next year. There are things for little ones to do you just have to be creative. The weather was warm when we were there so we also let him take off his shoes and play in the water. Seemed to be a big hit!

the KidCot game is really cute.

Also, Ice Station Cool (coke exhibit) is a huge hit for anyone who likes sugar! lol :cool1:

1) Test Track, if he's big enough. (I believe it's 40", but not positive)
2) Ellen's Universe of Energy is big with the kids.
3) "The figment ride" lol - Journey Into Your Imagination with Figment.
4) Living with the Land
5) SPACESHIP EARTH!

When DD was 3 she enjoyed El Rio de Tiempo/Mexico-boat ride, Spaceship Earth, and the boat ride in the Land. The only boat ride she didn't like was the one in Norway because she was afraid of the trolls, and snow monster! She also enjoyed dinner at Teppanyaki as the chef performed/prepared dinner. She also enjoyed making the mask at the Kidcot stations, however, it was time consuming. Also in the Land they had a place for kids to make chocolate chip cookies. The children all took turns mixing, and adding ingredients, and then preparing them from the oven. Each child receives a special "just baked" cookie - already wrapped!

maybe honey, i shrunk the audience, but it might be too scary for a 3yo

Do they still have this with all the renovations that have been going on in that area? It seems as if I read somewhere that this was gone. It would be something DS would love, as he always has to "help" whenever I am cooking or baking.

We just got back and saw that they were building a little playground along the walkway from imagination to the Nations side of the park. There is also a nice indoor play area at mission space. I find that we have to intersperse ice cream and play time about every two hours to keep my girls happy. There are also a couple of water play areas. Other than that, the other posters have covered all the attraction things that a young child would enjoy.

Have not visited Epcot yet, will in June, but from all that I have read, I think the Kidcot stops and the characters will make him very happy. Also, Illuminations. May want to get him some earplugs though.

We just got back from Disney and The Land area was closed, I'm not sure if for rennovations or if it's for Soarin'. Definitely check out Turtle Talk with Crush at the Living Seas...totally cute dude. The Figment ride is cute too, there is a "smelly part" but they give you enough warning so you can plug your nose if you are sensitive to smells. My 7 yr old was a bit scared in the Honey I Shrunk the Audience, but that just depends on the kid. She's not that crazy about 3D anything. There are tons of hands on areas in Epcot, great for keeping a 3 yr old busy. Have lots of fun!
