Best Summer Shoes

I know everyone is different, and my issue is that I have bad feet issues where barely any shoes are comfortable (issues with little toe). But thinking of our trip booked next summer when it'll be hot and daily thunderstorms. The one pair of shoes that work for me are Teva Verra. I also just purchased (but can return) Teva Tirra, which seems very similar. I've also heard good things of Chaco sandals that might work for me as well we they are open in the small toe.

So considering daily rain, what are your best shoes? Has anyone tried any of the above? There are velcro straps on the Teva shoes so not sure if they would lose their sticking ability if they got wet.
Also thinking of my kids...but won't buy for them until next summer as they grow like weeds.

I am having shoe issues also! I'm considering Teva's, but want to try them out for a bit before committing. I'm also looking into Native Shoes, their Jefferson shoe is like a cross between crocs and converse. They would be perfect for rain, but again, I want to give them a good test run.

Can't speak for your shoes but for the kids, we typically bought Keens...the Newport H2s I believe. They have a nice bottom but are open at the same time so they let some air in.

Well, not Keen Clearwaters; I sometimes have to wrap my little toes in bandaids when I wear those to prevent chafing (overall I find them comfortable enough to put up with it).

My go-to for when my feet are sore or just need more breathing room is Sanuk flip-flops. They have surprisingly good arch support, and since there's not much to them they dry quickly. If you wear women's sizes, too, you can get the yoga style with a second soft strap that goes around the heel--my housemate wears those a lot; I can't speak for them directly since they don't come in my size.

Another vote for Keens, definitely. They really hold up well and no blisters to speak of---really a great shoe! AND....I get compliments on mine all the time still (they are coming up on 2 years old).

I really like Birkenstock’s but they would be a problem in the rain due to cork sole but they are making them in another material now ( something like a plastic) which would work in the rain. I’m also a fan of Ryka ( a sport sandal).

Thanks. I've heard good things about Keens. They wouldn't work for me because of my little toe issue but might be good option for our kids.

The Native Shoes look cute.

I know a lot rave about Birkenstocks and daughter had a pair last summer and loved them but as mentioned probably not great for Florida rain. These kind of shoes and knock offs don't work for me because of the lip around the edge. (Just bought that ki d if shoes and returned it as could tell after 30 min around the house).

Anyone know if Teva Tirra does well in rain? I purchased a pair and they seem comfortable...similar to Verra

My daughter has worn Teva Tirra on every Disney trip we have been on, and they are great! I just ordered her a new pair for our upcoming trip, actually :) they have never given her blisters and I am told they are very comfortable. The Velcro straps do stay put when wet. I have been wearing Teva Verras the past few trips, and they are super comfortable as well. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of them 👍

Thank you! Really good to know that the straps keep ok if they get wet. That is my concern. I currently own the Verra but its a few years old and getting grungy looking so ordered the Tirra as an alternative (but same color as that's what they had). Actually...it's the first time I noticed them in the store in Canada (I got the Verra from Amazon)...and since they are hard to find and my other pair is getting old , I purchased a 'replacement pair' but the other model. Have only tried them in the house though so can still return them. I also noticed Chaco brand in the store (which is a first as well up here) so may try and see how those feel and then decide.
Wish I didn't have these feet issue as there are so many wonderful shoes out there.

Got to the store today to try on Chaco sandals. Couldn't even get them on my foot. The straps are so weird and stiff. There goes that idea. (The footbed on the one that I did get on felt good though).
Can't tell if the Teva Tirra is rubbing my little toe (my problem area). Very frustrating.

I want to try the Teva Tirras and Verras, but I wear a wide shoe width. Do the Tirras and Verras run true to medium-width shoes? Or do they work for wide feet? Or should I just order men's Tevas? It's kind of hard for me to get to a shoe store to try on shoes, so I will have to order shoes online and return the ones that don't work - so thanks for any feedback.

My first pair of Teva Verras was ordered off of Amazon. I'm in Canada and so never saw them in stores (until recently) but heard such good reviews on here that thought I'd try them. I'd say they are medium...not narrow but not extra wide. Funny thing about the Tirras...first pair I also ordered a couple weeks ago. Today in the store, I saw a color that I liked better so brought those home. Strange thing...I think the original pair fits better. Must be the way the straps are fitting as they are the exact same shoe (one seems naturally looser than the other). Good luck. As long as you can return them, then try ordering and see. The footbed is nice and supportive.
