best studio to waitlist

I was just able to get a great airfare rate out of Trenton for the first week of December. As of right now, there is no availability for my dates. I am thinking of booking a room only at a value resort for now and opening a wait list for a DVC resort. What resorts do I have the best shot at having my wait list come through?

SSR or OKW. Be sure to check the online website frequently to see if individual nights come open. I was able to get 5 nights at BWV for the second week in November by stalking the website for individual nights. First nights 3, 4 & 5 came open, I booked it and changed the waitlist, then 2 came open, I booked it and changed the waitlist and then night 1 came by the waitlist. All within 2 months of arrival, night 1 was at 28 days.

Thank you for your response! I have never opened a wait list before. I will definitely keep a look out for availability on the website.

My waitlist for OKW for 12/4-12/7 came thru last week, although I never received an email. I logged in to do my nightly check and saw the points had been subtracted from my account.

Last December I had good luck with studio waitlists at VWL and OKW.

Studio at SSR is available if you are looking for 11/30 - 12/7.

I would also add that I've had good luck w/ waitlists at Kidani close to my travel dates.

If you do single days I think almost any resort is possible except for maybe value view rooms. Like BW standard view is very limited so I wouldn't even attempt that.

I was able to put together 9 nights at BLT Lake view studio from Oct 27th - Nov 5th.

When I started I only had 2 nights.
After 2 weeks I had 6 nights.
About 2 more weeks pass and I had 8 nights.
Another month past and I got the last night (just last week).

So in 2 months of single night waitlist I was able to acquire a 9 night studio from a resort that is booked solid. I always did single day waitlist to ensure I was not passed over because they didn't have all the days at once. Its seems very easy to get 1 night waitlist.

PS. It was odd... I was going to give up on the last day I needed and just pay cash for the 1 night as It was available for cash reservations. The day I went to book the cash room it was no longer available. 2 days later my waitlist came in.

WL SSR & OKW non HH category. That will give you the best chance of success. Then once you match, and you likely will, you could WL options that might be better for you.
