Best strategy for riding Soarin without a FP: rope drop or at closing?

I for one hat hoofing it quickly over there at rope drop. Instead we are having brekkie with Chip & Dale next door at 8 and we can be first in line at Soaring no rushing!

My DH and I were at Epcot in late August on a day with an early Extra Magic Hour (opened at 8 am). We walked through the gate later than I hoped, around 8:15. I was so mad at myself for not getting up earlier, but we actually walked onto Soarin' without a wait. The second time we went through (immediately after) we had about a 10 min. wait. Highly recommend doing Rope Drop for Soarin'!
