Hi there,

It looks like there are several port adventures that take you to Stingray City and i am interested in feedback on the differences between them. For example, one goes to "original" city, not a sandbar?

My kids will be just 5 and 7.5. They are strong swimmers. I really like the idea of taking a catamaran out.

Thanks!!

I don't know what the original city is. Every trip I've ever been on to see the stingrays has gone to the sandbar. Two years ago we enjoyed the deluxe tour. The group I was with had people of a variety of ages, the steps on the boat went almost down to the sandbar itself, so very easy to get on and off for children, and people with limited mobility.

We did G09, Stingray City Reef Sail & Snorkel, and we went out to the reef line. The rays were plentiful and the water deep (15+ feet) Some coral in the immediate vicinity, but the closer you went to the reef, the more fantastic the views. The crew required floatation vests, but that was no big deal. The rays were mainly fully mature and at least 6 feet from wingtip to wingtip. Biggest rays I'd ever seen. We loved it. Turned all my kids (who were 11, 9 & 9 at that point) and DW on to snorkeling.
