I just booked our 2011 trip, March 24th to April 1st at SSR. THis being our first visit there, I was wondering what was the best area within SSR to ask for. There will be four of us, myself, my son (10) and twin daughters (7), and we'll be travelling within WDW using the bus system (ie. no car).

Can you even request a certain area when you reserve? I'm sure since I just called today, if I call back tomorrow I can at least ask.

Even though we are big fans of Congress Park, I would request the Springs area. The buildings are close together, close to the bus stop and across the street from the main pool and CS. Also close to the lobby.

We really liked the Grandstand section. Very nice pool, and not crowded, unlike the main pool, which was always mobbed. It's a short walk to the CS, and there's a very convenient bus stop. It's a beautful resort, enjoy!

We do not own at SSR but stayed there in Jan and requested Springs. They granted our request and boy were we happy. The bus stop was right in front of our building and right across the way were all the dining, pool (main) and stores. It was freezing when we were there so the location was excellent, but with kids I would want that for sure if possible.

I would pick Grandstand. Very closes to the Carriage house and main themed pool. Also, Grandstand's bus stop is the first to be picked up and the first to be dropped off. The Springs are the last and there are times when those people don't get on the bus if it is a busy time of year because it is full before getting to the springs.

A vote for the Springs. The Springs pool has the water slide and community hall. The Grandstand is a fun area as well. We had fun at the private pool at the Paddock (dds 8,5).

We don't own at SSR either but had the opportunity to stay there this past summer.

I did my research prior to our trip and chose the Grandstand section. I wasn't disappointed - it was an easy walk to the Carriage House, Artist's Palette and the main pool. The pool adjacent to the Grandstand is also very nice and has a water play area that's a lot of fun for little ones. Another plus is that we were the first bus stop in the morning.

I think all of the areas have their pluses and minuses but overall, the Grandstand is a great location.

Grandstand - easy acces to eating, drinking and TWO pools with kids stuff!
