Where is the best spot to stand to see the Parade as well as the best spot to see the Fireworks?

I am going with my family who hate to line up and wait for too long, although I'd happily sit and wait for an hour to get good viewing. So perhaps if there is a suggestion for a 20 min waiting spot that is still good for viewing I would be most grateful. That should be a good wait time compromise and hopefully still snag us an ok view.

Thank you so much in advance.

Also, what is the Dragon I have heard mention of?

AGain, thank you for any help. :)

We got a really great spot to view the parade on a stage thing between the AP office and the castle. We waited about half an hour. Having said that, we didn't get much interaction because we weren't at ground level - with kids you might be better off trying to get a spot at the rope.

If you're planning to see the parade in the Studios you shouldn't have to wait long at all. We got a perfect, front row spot about 10 minutes before it started.

After seeing Dreams from a spot where we waited for an hour, and then only waited half an hour, I can say that although it was a better view after the hour wait, the view from the half hour wait was nearly as good. It's one of those shows where you don't need to be up close. If you can get a spot behind a garden bed, I highly recommend it. Otherwise, try to get a spot on the edge of the path going around the hub so you have a height advantage. And the closer to the middle of the castle the better :thumbsup2

But seriously, even if you're just standing in the middle of Main Street, you'd still get to see most of the effects. They're mainly up higher so it doesn't matter if there are people in front of you.

The dragon lives under the castle. Coming from the front, there's a path to the side that will lead you into her lair. Otherwise you can get to it from around the back of the castle, if you walk between Fantasyland and Adventureland. If you walk in when she's asleep, hang around for a few minutes and she'll wake up. It's definitely worth a look.

Thanks so much Zanzibar. I will jot down your recommendations and I'm sure they will be a great help.

The dragon sounds very unique, can't wait to see it.

For the parade you've got more chance of a decent spot without the longer wait if you head up towards where it starts near it's a small world. We've often watched it by little Italy (Pizzeria Bella Notte, Fantasia Gelati) and had a great spot without having the wait we'd have had on Main Street or Town Square.

We always watch the parade at the start by IASW.
Even in the middle of August we found we had lots of space. The twins (who were only 20 months) toddled around without incident and our eldest made a pile of French friends.
It just seemed a lot more laid back!!
