Anyone got the perfect location for taking pics of Wishes in Magic Kingdom? My big trip is two weeks away!! I was thinking about going up to the train station at the entrance of the park. It's a dead on view of the fireworks and it's above the crowds. The only thing I'd be worried about it that that whole area is lit with lights. So is that going to screw up the pictures? If where I'm standing is lit, but I have the camera taking pics of an area that is dark? If anyone has the perfect location - let me know!!! I just got my tripod yesterday. It looks really good - it's very stable. It's a Sunpak Mini Pro Plus.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions!

The train station is great, as is the area on Main Street, between Casey's and the ice cream shop, more crowds there though. As long as the light is not shining into the camera, it will be fine. Enjoy.

I've taken Wishes from several angles, the spot I like most for most parts of Wishes is on the left side of the hub. For the finale, you'll have to be at the centre hub.

Thanks!! I'm going to try and set up at the train station...What about outside the park? I know you can see them for the beach at the Poly, but it's spectacular or anything...

Also - how the heck can I practice these shots without fireworks? I'd love to do some practicing, but I can't think of anything that would help me know if I've gotten the settings right.

Be sure to set up EARLY if you are using the train station. We sometimes have to camp out for at least an hour to guarantee a spot by the railing and if you are using a tripod be sure to plant family members around the legs. It can get pretty crowded there too with lots of little ones captivated by the show and not aware of their immediate surroundings. I would hate to hear about a toppled tripod.

BTW how long will you be there? We will be there 5/6-5/13.
