My MIL's biggest complaint is that she's always been a night owl and she is being woken up before noon. So, just ignoring the phone calls doesn't solve the problem of them calling at 8:00 am and waking her up.
You have to get her a phone in which she can turn the ringer off before going to bed at night and then back on once she's awake. Maybe set up an alarm or alert of some kind to remind her to do this each day. There are apps to remind people to take pills at certain times of the day. Either get her a cheap, older model cellphone and just set the app or the phone's alarm to beep each night and morning to remind her. Or get a real alarm clock to do it.
There is the ability to press *78 for Do Not Disturb on some landline providers. But, the problem is, if they forget to turn OFF the feature, there is no way to call a person to turn it off. You'd have to go to their house to repress *78 to turn off the Do Not Disturb.
