Best Solo Strategy with Park Hopper?

I'm looking for the best current strategy or advice for LLMP based on the following:

- Solo visitor, so I can make use of single rider
- Two full days (Sunday 1/26 and Monday 1/27)
- Rope drop both days but no early entry, as I'm staying off site a close walk away
- I'll likely stay until park close or close to it
- Starting at DLP both days, as I simply don't enjoy CA as much in the morning, but am happy to hop back and forth multiple times in a day since it's so easy
- I enjoy pretty much all of the dark rides and thrill rides

I’ve been to DL five times over the past six years, so I'm very familiar with the parks. There aren't any critical items on the to-do list, as I've done most of the things I enjoy several times, but I still like to stay current on the best strategy since they seem to make changes almost every time I visit. I haven't used LLMP at DL before, so the changes every visit trend continues. I figure the more I get done in the first half of each day, the more I can relax, stroll, shop, eat, people watch, etc. the second half of each day. But again, there are no must-do items, so this is really just a general awareness and "getting excited for my trip" thread.

Feel free to share videos, articles, other threads, or your own advice, and thanks in advance!

I am a solo traveller, very familiar with the parks. I stay off site at Desert Inn and Suites. I did rope drop to late at night both days. I use Lightening Lanes and have a MagicBand. I did a 2 day hopper starting both days in the Main park in June 2024. In Disneyland, I would rope either rope drop Peter Pan or Big Thunder. Rise of the Resistance gets a huge line right at rope drop, so I think it's better to save that one for near closing time. Matterhorn and Space Mountain have single rider lines. I would really suggest starting one of your days at DCA to rope drop Guardians Mission Breakout. Radiator Springs Racers has single rider. Incredicoaster also has it, but it's quite slow, so maybe also consider that.

You should be able to get a lot done with LLMP. Having that with two full days, you don't need to stress too much about planning rides and beating lines.

Thanks for the advice! Traveling solo definitely means single rider is very helpful. I use it at WDW and DL when I’m with others, but it’s always more fun when you ride with your friends or family. When you’re solo, it doesn’t matter!

I’ll probably stick with DLP to start both days since I really love it in the morning and don’t care for DCA as much that time of day. When I’m visiting three or four days, I typically do one at DCA just to change it up, but for only two days I’d rather have two mornings in DLP. But like you said, I’m not stressing because two full days solo with park hoppers and LLMP means I shouldn’t have trouble getting on all of the good stuff at least once, maybe twice for several.

Actually, it looks like early entry is for DCA both full days I’m there, so I think it makes even more sense to start at DLP both days, as I’m staying off property. This might give me a shot at a shorter wait for Peter Pan from rope drop one of the days to cross it off the list early, then another ride the other day. Just have to decide which.

The question of the best LLMP strategy still remains, though. Does anyone have advice on what to book first or when if the goal is basically to just get the most rides out of it throughout the day? I’m never quite sure what to focus on first or how long I want to “delay” that first ride to make the most of non-LL options right after rope drop.

You can always book the first ride ASAP and go at the end of the time slot. I'd recommend Space Mountain for DLP and Incredicoaster for DCA.

Thanks! Space Mountain has been my favorite ride since I was a kid, so even though I said there are no must-do rides...SM is a must-do ride lol. I actually prefer the DL version to WDW in terms of the ride itself, although the queue of the WDW version is superior. And as a big coaster fan, Incredicoaster is definitely going to happen at least once, so that's a sensible option, as well.
