DS (age 10) has been in an aircast for several months. He usually wears the tall, colorful Under Armour type socks that boys like these days. Those work well to provide a layer between his skin and the aircast. On our rare very hot days (it has been a cool summer here in NH) he has worn ankle socks. Those have worked fine too, kept him cooler and it was ok having the aircast directly on the skin for a short period of time.
As we prepare for Disney next week I feel like neither of these are good options! In the tall socks he is going to roast and sweat! I can't imagine that the aircast directly on the skin all day, in the extreme heat and humidity would be good either (it would be so gross by the end of the week!).
I was hoping someone who has more experience with wearing braces/AFOs/etc might have a sock they suggest.
Thanks!
