Many of you order supplies online...could you tell me some of the sites you use? I'm new at this and have found mousememories.com is good for stickers, paper, but where else do you order?

Also, at the risk of sounding dumb, (let me reinstate I'm just starting out) the papers you buy, how do you adhere them to the pages???? Do they get glued? I have acquired supplies, but not started putting any pages together yet. I'm checking into taking a course at a local scrapbooking store, but thought I'd ask here until I can take the class. Thanks!

I've ordered a few things from dmarie.com and had good luck. I tend to load up on stuff when I get to a scrapbook store though.
I'm picky about my paper colors so I don't buy it online. I'm weird that way. ;)
About adhering it: If your album is a strap bound or spiral(which in my opinion you don't want) then you can "wallpaper". That means that you stick the paper onto the page for a background. You can use tape runners or hermafix squares for this. Or I think you can use glue sticks though I'm not positive on this. Then you can use a page protector to put over the page to protect it from fingerprints or any embellishments coming off.
If you are using a post bound album then you can just slip your finished page into the top of the page protector.
Hope that makes sense.
Take a beginner class at your local scrapbook store (LSS.) And ask lots of questions!! Every scrapper I know has changed how they scrap in one way or another- they've either switched albums types or simplified their pages or whatever. It takes awhile to find your style.

I've ordered from several online resources. No really bad experiences. I just found www.creativecropping.com (I think! Yikes now that I typed it I'm not 100% positive that is right but it is very close) Located out in Colorada.

Found them because of their large listing of Dalee Books. Am waiting for my first order from them but Valerie has been wonderful in her email communications and taking care of a special order for me. They use a secure site for the order.

bananiem, do you not recommend strap bound or spiral books or just the spiral? If not strap bound, what have you found to be the problem?

Sorry Michelle B!!! I wasn't very clear, was I? I meant I'd stay away from the spiral ones. I just think don't think they are as durable or versatile, since once you get the page down you can't move it around if you want to change the order.
As far as strap hinge albums go, I started out with that kind and did 2 or 3. I've discovered that for my style I prefer top loading post bound albums. I tend to use a colored piece of cardstock or paper and not as much matting. I found that doing this on top of the permanent pages in a strap hinge to be too bulky. My pages are simple since I'm mainly doing it for the journaling aspect.
I have several friends that swear by strap hinge though. I think it's a matter of personal preference but I didn't mean to imply that you should stay away from strap hinge.

I've used www.creativexpress.com they have a flat shipping rate and a 10% off coupon right now.
I just found a site that has the CUTEST embellishments...omgosh...little balloons, and presents, pumpkins and snowmen...I placed an order last night so we'll see how they do...they are at www.scrapnstuff.com Holycow

if you do need to order cardstock online (I do because there are so few LSS in the UK). Many of the stores can supply a cardstock swatch for a minimal charge. I have one and it makes ordering cardstock much easier - it's really hard to match colors on the screen, so with the swatch you know exactly what you are getting

Deb, thanks so much for listing this site. I have been for a Dalee album for a long time. Every site I have gone to they are sold out. Now, I can finally order my wedding album. Thanks a bunch.
