We would like to go away in Feb but everything seems so expensive. I don't care where we go so have thought about just trying to find a last minute deal and just go. We don't even care if we just book a day or two before we leave. Where should I be looking? Thanks

Try lastminutetravel.com, hotwire.com or even expedia or travelocity. Lots of them have last minute deals. Usually for a weekend or two before the travel date. And if you want to stay somewhere "local" within a day's drive check out the tourism websites of those places (example: Gatlinburg.com).

Check out vrbo for rentals. If they haven't rented the place out by now they usually won't and will be more likely to rent for less or odd timeframes.

If we know where we're going and don't mind taking chances we either Priceline or hotwire.com rooms. Otherwise we do all of our booking on Expedia, Travelocity, or Yahoo travel. For last minute airfair deals search Kayak.com to see who has the best price.

Travelzoo.com is also great. It lists the best travel deals on the internet each week. I think they update it every Tues or Wed.

We've snagged some great deals this way.
