not including Sea Shack, which everyone seems to really recommend from other threads, what would youre top 5 be? TY

Our top 5, besides Sea Shack-
1. Captain Woodys
2. Roastfish and Cornbread
3. Salty Dog
4. Old Fort Pub
5. Pino Gelato/Flamingo's Donuts (hey, I love snacks)

We went to Kenny B's twice-once we really enjoyed it, the second time not so much. So I don't know how it is now.

Not in any particular order, my favorite restaurants are:
1) Santa Fe Cafe--Must see and taste Painted Desert Soup.
2)Bistro 17 in Shelter Cove--Croque Madame is awesome.
3)Giuseppis Pizza--casual with great pizza.
4)Salty Dog--great atmosphere and food.
5)Old Oyster Factory--expensive but awesome.

Our top five
Bonefish grill
Earle of sandwhich
Guiseppes
Salty dog
Hudsons on the dock

Appreciate everyone's recommendations. We will be there in 3 weeks and after last year being our first year there, we want to create a must try list with the advice from all the experts above :cool1: Thanks

For our top 5 we really enjoyed:
Truffles Cafe (dressy casual - they take ressies)
Roastfish & Cornbread - Low Country style food (you can try an alligagtor appetizer if you're inclined to experiment)
Alligator Grille (found a coupon on restaurants.com - kinda pricey without one)
One Hot Mama's (reasonable - casual - BBQ)
Guiseppi's (OK - cheap & close)

We did NOT like the Mexican place across the harbor (San Miquel's or something). Food not that great & they nickle & dimed us for extra stuff like sour cream & I think even for extra chips & salsa.:sad2:

our favorites
Salty Dog
Guiseppi's
Old Oyster Factory, love that you can see the resort from the restaurant.

Be sure to pick up a local restaurant booklet at area grocery stores. Has all the menus and coupons.

For fine dining and atmosphere::love:

Old Fort Pub

Everyone has different opinions....used to LOVE Sea Shack...new owners....not worth the lack of atmosphere for the $$$.

1. Harold's Diner...breakfast and lunch only.
2. Marley's...Early Birds!
3. Dye's!
4. Aunt Chiladas...great Happy Hour menu.
5. Have heard good things about Frankie Bones and Wise Guys...from locals.
6. Tried San Miguels for the first time....shared Nachos....very good.
7. Roastfish and Cornbread good last year.

:laundy:

nice....have not heard of this. Is it centrally located or near the resort?

For fine dining - Red Fish & Old Fort Pub
For steaks and martinis - Frankie Bones
For beachy HHI Atmosphere & T shirt - Salty Dog
For fresh seafood - Sea Shack
For gorgeous marsh views and seafood - Old Oyster Factory

Have a wonderful trip!!! :goodvibes

I have to add one to the places already listed by others...

We love Gruby's Deli...if you go before 3:00pm (for lunch) their hamburgers are good but their french fries are AWESOME!!! They are made homemade FF where someone (bless their soul) hand cuts all of them. Yumm...delicious with ketchup or even Vinegar if that is your preference.

They are located in the plaza just down the road from the Disney resort. It is on the same side of the road as Disney and I think Fresh Market is there as well.

I think it is a place a lot of 'locals' go to...a real gem let me tell ya!!!
