Best shop for snowglobes/jewellery.

Hello again!!

I'm off in 16 days!! and as my birthday present while we are away, Jack is going to buy me a Special Disney collectible or the like.

He originally wanted to keep it a surprise and buy me a snowlgobe for my actual brithday (May) but he didn;t think any of the current Disney Store UK ones were suitable for me, so now we are waiting till our trip.

I also like the idea of a watch (if they do the nie ones like at WDW or other Jewellery). Or maybe even a film cel.

Which would be the best places for me to look?

Look at the two shops in the Castle... One is a Christmas Shop with loads of snowglobes, and one is glass shop which sells ornaments and I think some jewellery.

There's a shop in the village where they sell lovely Xmas decorations, pictures etc so they'll have lots of snowglobes there.

This is probably a really stupid question but where would you stand with taking a snow globe back through airport security as I would imagine there is more than 100mls of water in the large ones but theres not a snowglobe in hells chance that I would risk putting it in luggage. Last time I took one through it was pre all the liquids regulations....

They also sell jewelry in the castle and have some snowglobes there. However, the Christmas store in the castle is small, always a lot of people, ... and since they don't sell any items exclusive to that store, I personally prefer to buy at other stores, where they have more place/ time to wrap/ pacl properly!

There was a lady on the Eurostar carrying a snow globe in April. There're no limits on the drinks etc on the train.

There is also a small shop/stand in the Liberty Arcade which sells glass things. You can have them engraved and personalised as well

One of the shops on Main Street sells a fair range of jewellery, it's on the right hand side going towards the castle, but unfortunately I can't remember what it's called.

Lol this reminds me of when we went to florida in 2006. They had an offer on disney.co.uk, where if you bought the hotel and ticket package you got a free snowglobe. 'Great' we thought. Well on the first day, we went into the shop at Pop Century to exchange our voucher and the lady goes off and brings back this huge heavy snowglobe I think it cost equivalent to £50. We both looked at it and thought, how on earth are we going to bring this back to the UK?!!

Anyway we took it, because it was free We got stopped at the airport because we had to take it as hand luggage on the plane, but they actually let us have it on the plane

Be careful as the snow globes are breakable. We bought a small one for my Mum last summer and it broke before we even got to pack it in our case - we were travelling by car so it would have been OK in the case- We went back to the shop to see if they had another and they gave us the money back but unfortunately didnt have another the same. It hadnt been put in a box just wrapped in tissue paper so ask for a box if you get one

You're fine bringing snowglobes back on the Eurostar ~ one of the biggest advantages over flying!!

I asked this question on the UKTP board before our last trip to WDW in case I wanted to bring a large snowglobe back from there. Quite a few people replied who had brought ones back in their hold luggage and they all arrived intact. The large globes are well packed in polystyrene in a box, then they wrapped clothes around them.
