Best shoes

I wouldn't recommend flip flops. Too much walking and remember that WDW has inclines and declines (e.g. AK) and not all pavement is smooth (i.e. ongoing construction and concrete work). But, Birkenstock or Teeva branded sandals seem popular but I'm not sure those are actual flip flops.

I always recommend to folks asking for footwear tips to wear closed toed sandals and/or tennis shoes. Also, waterproof sandals are great on days there is a strong chance of rain.

Last month, I wore (and switched between) Keen Newport H2 (waterproof sandals) and Sketchers Go Walk with a goga mat bottom (tennis shoes). Never had any problems with blisters or foot/ankle pain.

Teva Mush are pretty decent for park days if you really want a flip flop. They are a flip flop design but with a cushy foot bed. However, my favorite shoes for the parks are Keen Whisper.

I would recommend a comfortable walking shoe. Flip/flops to me are more for the beach where there is sand and you aren't walking very far.

I will only wear running shoes in the parks, my wife has had good luck with Spenco.

We were just there last week, and I alternated between Saucony running shoes and Skechers Go Walk flip flops. I thought both were super comfortable! I like wearing flip flops in the summer, and the Skechers worked out great -- no sore feet on this trip at all!
