Best shoes to wear at WDW?

My best tip was to never wear the same type of shoe all day. Switching around shoes, using an antiperspirant and stopping the moment your feel a hot spot (for a little moleskin break) are the things I made sure my sister knew before her June trip.

I am one of the few on this site who is not a croc fan. The plastic makes my feet too sweaty. The ony way to avoid this is to wear socks, and that defeats the purpose. Also, they don't offer much in the way of arch support. I prefer sandals. I like my feet open to the air and cool. I like the Chaco "Zong." It is available at www.zappos.com they also have a style called "wrapsody" that does not go between your toes. They are water proof, and have good arch support.

:thumbsup2 I will be taking my crocs (I have Pirates of the Caribbean onespirate: ) and chaco sandals in Sept. I work at a store where most of the shoes are kept in the back room and we have to get them for the customers. I wore my crocs on a very busy saturday and they worked great my feet were no more sore than a great pair of sneakers. And my chacos are comfortable and give a lot of support.

My brother will be bringing his keen sandals and maybe some sneakers.

And my friends that are going will be bringing crocs and sneakers.

I just broke down and bought my 1st pair of Crocs last week for our upcoming trip in August!!! Hope they work out !
Last trip in 2005 I lived in my Reef Flip Flops....I have a new pair of these as well, for my August trip !!! Happy Feet:cool1:

Just returned from WDW. I wore my crocs during the day, and my sneakers at night. I was comfortable with both for long periods of time. Crocs were better for daytime when the sun was hot!

For our trip, I wore nothing but Crocs Capris. They were heaven on my feet - no blisters, rubbing or achy feet/legs for our entire trip! :thumbsup2

I've seen so many types of shoes mentioned for wearing at WDW. What have you found most comfortable during the summer at WDW? Thanks in advance.

We went this past Feb. I was 6 months prego, feet full of water from all the walking. But!! Crocs saved me. They are the ugliest of shoes but are really very comfy. The only bad thing is, it was hard to stop wearing them when we got home. It's like your feet change form to Crocs.

As far as summer time. They have all different types of Crocs that have the toe cut out or flip flops.

Good luck!

I love crocs too! I didn't even know about them until our trip to WDW last December....a lady who had broken her ankle was wearing them and told us all about them. So, I picked up my first pair and LOVE THEM!!!! My teenage sisters now wear them, my DD4 has 2 pairs, and I finally persuaded my DH to buy a pair for our trip next week to WDW and he did. He LOVES them (although he'd never admit it to me) and wears them whenever he has to walk a lot! :woohoo:

I did not read through this entire thread, so I appologize if Keen sandals were already mentioned but I could not pass up an opportunity to rave about them! My feet are always sore after a long days walk but not in my Keen's. I bought my first pair two years ago and now own several! I know the price is steep but is well worth it and they hold up great. They make them in infant to adult sizes too!

I personally found my crocs very comfortable, but too hot for Disney. My feet sweated a ton in them in the hot weather.

Just so moleskin:rotfl2: I bought it just in case for my trip next month. I am putting my Montrails to the test, my worn in Nikes will be the back up.

Just returned from WDW where we all wore Crocs all day every day and they were great. I hadn't even had time to break mine in before I went, but they just got more comfortable each day. :cool1:

I think that one of the key things about the Cayman Crocs which I was wearing is that they are so light that they don't rub your feet, you hardly even know they are on. But you do need to make sure that you get them big enough that there is plenty of room for your feet to move around inside, and that the only part of your foot touching is the sole.

Yes, my feet did get a bit sweaty a few times but that tended to be when I was a bit anxious (like before Mission Space) :scared: but moving around they were a joy to wear. :thumbsup2

I'll be in my birkenstocks!

I bought us all crocs in the spring, and my dd is the only one currently wearing them.

My 3 year old would fall every time he tried to run in them, and after a major wipeout on the sidewalk that resulted in road rash up one side of his face they landed in the closet for the rest of the summer.

My 6 year old loves hers and swears they're the most comfortable things ever.

I liked mine too...but last week I broke my pinky toe at the base, and I need the hard sole of the birkenstocks to support it (it still hurts like crazy if I wear shoes that are flexible on the bottom or have any sort of a top for my toe to bump into when I walk).

We love our crocs, too.....DH, DD12 and DS5

For the people who say they rub blisters...I am only repeating this because I have never tried myself, but I have read that if there places where your crocs rub, you can warm them for a minute with your hairdryer, and then pull on that area...when the crocs cool back down, they "remember" when you adjusted them.

PLUS - for those afternoon showers & water rides...so nice to dry them out with paper towel & keep going!!

I'll be wearing my Disney crocs. I have had them since Mother's Day and love them. I wore them to the zoo which has ALOT of walking up and down hills and never once did they hurt and my feet didn't sweat...and it was hot! I will bring my sneakers for just in case, but I doubt I will wear them. It is just too hot to wear sneakers.:yay:

I always where the sketchers sport premium shoes. I wear with them shoe inserts that are made my phase 4 because of my tendinitis in my ankles. I take 1 extra pair of shoes with me and my sketcher flip flops to where to the pool. Moleskin is a must!!!

I wore Teva Hurricane sandals and Nike Shox sneakers, no problems at all. I have heard that you can get blisters on the top of your feet from Crocs is that true?? I thought I might have an issue with the sandals but none whatso ever. I was very happy too. If I did have problems I was prepared to buy a pair of Crocs and give em a try after the first blister. But thankfully I didn't as those Crocs may be comfy but are seriously ugly!! :scared1:

Unless you are aged eight or below don't wear Crocs. You will look seriously stupid and thousands of people will s****** at you as you walk by.
