Best shoes to wear at WDW in Dec.?

My husband and I might be able to go to this December. (Keeping fingers crossed!!!) It has been nearly 7 years and I'm quite a few pounds heavier, so I want to make sure I get shoes that are lightweight and very comfy.

What shoes work best for you?

(I've heard people say Crocs are great for water rides and for when it rains, but we won't have to worry about the rain in Dec. and we're saving Splash Mountain for the last ride. Are these good for winter too and would you wear socks with them or is that tacky?)

When we were there the week after Thanksgiving last year it rained almost every day. So I wouldn't plan too much around dry weather. We always gone the end of Nov - beginning of Dec. and have had everything from sun, rain, shorts and mittens. All in all it's a great time to go anyway. That being said I like New Balance 600's. While not terribly lightweight they do provide great support for those of us who are a few lbs. heavier.

I am Croc lover. I bought mine for my WDW trip in Jan. of 06. They were wonderful, not a single blister and my feet were no sore at all. I loved them so much I wear them just about everywhere now even if they aren't the most attractive! I also wore them in May 06 to WDW.

For the Jan trip I wore short socks with capris because it was a little chilly. They may not have looked the most stylish but really who cares when you're at WDW! I actaully find them more comfortable with socks on. I live in Omaha and I wear them all winter with socks (my jeans cover the socks though) and I don't feel too weird about it.

I would never go to WDW without Crocs. They were great for my 6 yr old ds and 4 yr old dd too, no sore feet or blisters! Highly recommend!

Thanks guys! I'll look at the New Balances ones and for sure get some Crocs also.
