What restaurant has the best seafood? Crablegs, Lobster, Fish..... etc.

I have a family of 5 traveling in late June and some of us love seafood where as some do not. I made an ADR for Cape May Cafe, but I am wondering if there is another place that would be better. Preferring a 1 TB Credit Meal.

There are going to be several places in WDW that have better seafood than Cape May. Cape May is a buffet and IMO there is only so much quality that can go into mass produced food placed on serving stations; it's the quantity over quality dilemma. Cape May is ok, and the crab legs are nothing that overwhelms. But you are looking for a 1ts restaurant and this place is that. Another possible 1 TS restaurant for seafood may be Coral Reef for you. I would not call it the best seafood in WDW, but I personally enjoy this restaurant and it is a 1TS.

If you are a crab leg fan then the Captains Grill at the Yacht Club has much better crab legs and is a 1TS; However, this is not a seafood restaurant. My personal favorite seafood restaurant is Narcoossee's but it is a 2TS signature restaurant. I love the food, I love the atmosphere, I love the location and is a must do every time we go to Disney. I've heard great things about Blue Zoo as well but have never been there; I will be going there for the first time this June.

Your title asks for the best seafood on property; I personally don't think you will find the best in a 1TS restaurant; those will be found in the signature restaurants... All the restaurants I have mentioned though all have other items on the menu that non seafood fans will enjoy as well. Good luck and I hope you all have a great time.

Cape May is the best - have been going there each trip for years - everything is fresh and hot - here now - have two ressies there - Sunday and Wednesday- can't wait!! Yummy! Lots of variety for lovers of seafood and non. No lobster though

We don't look for seafood at Disney because we live near the coast in CT and vacation in Maine every summer so we have not been but the newly opened The Boathouse in DS has been getting good reviews and has lots of shellfish on the menu.

I agree that due to location, most seafood will end up being frozen and shipped from elsewhere so it's never going to be omg standout. except maybe the $72 lobster at Narcoossees :faint:

Even though I live in NE I sometimes enjoy red lobster (no one tell on me) but it's with the expectation that it is more about preparation and seasoning and cheddar biscuits than having the freshest best seafood.

We live in a tourist town on the water in ct and I grew up on cape cod. We eat a lot of seafood. The only place I've had great seafood at Disney was at the boathouse. They even had scallops from my town on the menu. We ate there in October and everyone in our party really liked it - we were on the dining plan but paid out of pocket for our lunch rather than use 2 table credits. Prices were the same as prices at restaurants at home. I would def eat at the boathouse again.

Blue Zoo is by far the best seafood on property; however, it is not on the dining plan (these are likely linked :))

It is going to be hard to find good seafood at a 1TS restaurant. The ingredients are too expensive to lend themselves to the pricing of a 1TS. I shop in a retail seafood market two to three times a week, and prices are running from $19-$29 per pound for most high quality proteins. (Diver Scallops, Halibut, Wild Salmon, Red Snapper, Grouper, etc.) If a restaurant can serve me a Halibut filet and charge me $17, well...I really don't want to eat it. It can't be any good. But the Signature restaurants and the non-Disney restaurants (like bluezoo) will all feature these types of seafood, but you are going to pay $29-$45 for an entree. All that said, the best "seafood" restaurant that I have been to on property is bluezoo. But I have had outstanding individual seafood dishes at Flying Fish, California Grill and Citricos. I haven't tried The Boathouse yet, but their menu looks promising.

Other than your omission of Narcoossee's I agree with you 100%. I say that with tongue in cheek and in friendly jest, I know your feelings about my favorite restaurant. LOL

If you are looking to stay with a 1 TS credit meal, I would not hesitate to keep your reservation at Cape May. We enjoyed our meal there last fall, and thought the crab legs were very good. There are a variety of other choices as well. As others have said, you will not get the best seafood in WDW at a 1 TS credit restaurant, but I think it is expected that the signature restaurants have a higher quality of any type of food.
