The last time I visited Islands of Adventure was in the summer of 2009. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was still under construction, there was a temporary bridge, and a temporary bridge connecting The Lost Continent and Jurassic Park.

So... What has changed since then overall? I am visiting the park sometime NEXT WEEK (July 17-24). What do you think crowds will be like? What is the most sensible route for me & my family (so that we're not completely running around chaotically).

Crowds will be insane since LeakyCon is going to be there (Harry Potter fangroup) so I suggest visiting the Wizarding World in the few hours before the park closes.

It is pretty tough to get lost since the castle towers over the park. Head right upon going through the Port of Entry. Take a left near Green Eggs and Ham and follow the water to exit near the bridge to Lost Continent. Keep going and you can't go wrong.

You just gave me a heart attack... So I googled it & LeakyCon is July 13-17! :cool1:

Excellent! It will still be insane crowds though, even without Leakycon. Waits of 90 minutes have been posted for Forbidden Journey and Ollivanders by 9 am, when the regular crowds comes in. I would still consider visiting that area late in the day.

But I really don't know how to navigate through the park then... I always start by heading into Marvel Superhero Island first. Should I still do this? Or shall we go to Seuss Landing first? :confused3

If you're headed to WWoHP, then the route to the right through SL and LC is shorter.

I guess I'm confused: are you asking for a general touring plan for all of IoA?

Yes, a general touring plan that isn't chaotic and has us arrive at WWoHP at the most ideal time. :thumbsup2

Hmmm. Well, the thing that rules all else when touring IoA anymore is of course WWoHP. Either do that very first or very last. (Or both. ;)). After that advice, I'm not sure you need much of a plan, 'cause WWoHP sucks the people away from most every other Island.

So I can go around from Marvel Superhero Island to Seuss Landing, bypassing WWoHP, and go back after Seuss Landing with little to no problems?

You can go around the entire park bypassing WWoHP since there is a bypass bridge. www.universalorlando.com has a great interactive map that you might find useful.

Both Suess Landing and Marvel Superhero Island are located in the front of IOA...WWoHP is in the back. You can take the bypass bridge from Lost Continent to Jurassic Park and avoid the area completely.

i don't know damo.
i pulled up the conference schedule for a homie last week and read through it.
the conferences and meetings are throughout the day until evening.
it stops around 7-7:30 on some nights.

i would think most of those leakyconn homies would go to the park in mass in the evening.

they do have one evening where the parry hotter section will be open to leakyconn homies after the park closes.

maybe that special time to themselves will be enough time there for them.

i really have no idea of how the LC convention will flood the parry hotter area.
i think most will go to the meetings and gatherings during the morning and afternoon, but still, many could skip out and hit the parks.

hopefully someone will create a thread to tell us about the parks for this time period..

did i really just say that, one evening alone in that section in the park will be enough for them....

It is on right now...I'll see if I can find some crowd reports.

i've been searching for info on leakyconn.

i know rph has a special rate for the ones that booked thru the LC convention.
they also get the bonus of keeping their room rate thru the 20th.

wondering how many of them will extend their trips to past the 20th?

i hope you find something!!
