Best route from Newport Beach (Catalina Flyer) to The Hyatt in Garden Grove?

Does anyone know if there's any construction on the freeways down there or other concerns that would make it best to choose one route over another? Google maps says to take the 55 and then I-5. When I dragged it to the Harbor Blvd route it predicted it would take 10 min. longer and I'm guessing that's because of traffic lights and stuff. Any recommendations? This will be on Sunday evening (this Sunday) at about 6 pm. TIA!!

I can't think of any construction going on around there but I would stay on the freeway especially since it is a Sunday evening. Also there is a carpool lane, assuming you have more than one person in your car.
