Best Route from MCO to resort

Hi everyone,

We are quickly approaching our next trip to WDW...so excited This will be our first experience staying off property and renting a car. So, I'm looking for some guidance on what you guys this is the best route to take from the airport to our condo.

We are staying a Grand Beach resort near Lake Bryan in Orlando. Our plane is scheduled to land around 6:00 on a Sunday evening. Looking at Google maps, there appears to be three routes that we can take:

Option 1- 528 toll road to I4,
Option 2 - 528 toll to 423 (toll?) to 417 toll
Option 3 - 417 toll road all the way.

Each is about the same amount of time and distance (give or take a minute or two).

We will be 'caravaning' with another group. So, I'm trying to figure out the easiest route to take where it would be easy for us to follow each other.

We aren't really worried about the cost of the tolls. I think the most expensive would be 417 and if I understand correctly its two tolls of $1.25each?

I'm also looking for a place to stop on the way in to get groceries. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Oh, and just curious. Because I know my DH, he'll probably just plug in the GPS and drive (regardless of which directions I give him). Anyone know which way the GPS (we'll be taking our Magellan) usually defaults to to get out of the aiport?

And just out of curiosity because I've never paid one bit of attention, does anyone know which way the Magic Express takes?

I would take the south exit out of the airport to Rt 417, continue on 417 thru 2 tolls and take exit 6 International Dr. You will be on Rt 536 after exiting 417, continue approx 1/2 mile to intersection of Rt 535.
If you want to stop for groceries before going to your resort you would take a left onto 535, there is a super Walmart approx 1 1/2 miles on the right. When leaving the Walmart exit out onto Polynesian Isles Blvd in order to get back onto 535, continue on 535 past the intersection of 536 and Grand Beach Resort will be about a 1/4 mile on your right.

Magical Express uses Rt 417 from the airport to WDW

Thanks for that information. It sounds like I was on the right track with going 417. Am I correct that the tolls are $1.25 each?

Thanks also for the Walmart info. When I did a store locator search, that one didn't show, but I think its b/c I was putting in Orlando. I changed my search to Kissimmee and now I see it.
