Trying to plan a romantic dinner for hubby and I and don't know where to eat that is a little more grown up but doesn't have foreign off the wall food. We are simple people that like a good meal, but want to know what it is we are eating. I'd prefer a restaurant at a resort or some place we don't need a ticket to get into as we won't be in the parks that day... Any thoughts?

:)Thanks so much in advance!

We enjoy Jiko -had one good meal here and one amazing meal. Both times it was quiet and comfortable.
We had a romantic dinner at Narcossee's once that was very nice.
We love the view from California Grill but it is always filled with kids and many times parents don't control the kids so they tend to be loud and unruly. But if you can ignore the cranky kids, the space is magical and the food is very good.
We are trying Artist's Point this trip to see how it rates on the romantic dinner scale!

Citrico's at The Grand Floridian is also a great restaurant; there are no fireworks, but the food is amazing. My husband and I had our anniversary dinner there and we liked the food better than the Cali Grill.

Another vote for Jiko. We love it there. It has an adult atmosphere and it is fairly quite. The restaurant is beautiful, the services is attentive and the food is excellent
Have a Great Trip

I would recommend Jiko, but that may be problematic if you have a problem with "foreign off the wall food" (not that I think Jiko's dishes and flavors are that "out there", but the fact that that would be an issue for you suggests that you may think so). Similar thoughts about Citricos. Artist Point probably has the most straightforward menu among the signature restuarants. Il Mulino would also be a good choice (it's Italian food, so that's foreign, but not too off the wall).

I'd recommend Narcossee's. You stated you didn't want anything off the wall. They have an excellent surf & turf that my DH and I really enjoyed the last time we were there. Also, if you plan it right you can enjoy the fireworks from their dock during your meal. Our servers timed everything correctly so we were between dinner and desert and had the time to go outside and enjoy.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a nice restaurant with food that you will surely recognize.

Yachtsman Steakhouse would be #1, because I think the menu will be the simplest, and Artist Point #2 (a little more "creative" on the menu, but still with some very basic items). Both tend to be more quiet and grown-up than the average Disney restaurant. You might want to try the California Grill and ask for a table in the wine room, which is more quiet, but you can still go outside when Wishes starts.

Check out the menus and see which you like best.

If you don't like anything "off the wall", definitely steer clear of Citricos. We went there on our honeymoon, and it was very nice, but there was only one thing on the menu that I was willing to eat. I'm a bit of a picky eater, and if you are too, I would check out their menu before deciding to eat there.

We LOVED Jiko!!! Atmosphere was relaxing and quiet with tables pretty far apart I thought...

I've heard that Artist Point is also great for their ambiance..

Narcoossee's! Time you ADR when WISHES, is happpening.
We had wonderful food, service, and a table next to a window and viewed the ELP, and Wishes (they dim the lights and pip in the MK music). I wanna go back SOON!!

My vote goes to either Jiko or Narcoossee's!

We were seated in the wine room at Jiko's with only 4 other tables there. Very quiet, relaxing and romantic. Food was great and so was the service there.

Narcoossee had more children and the tables were closer together...however, looking out the window and seeing the castle and fireworks with dessert was just fabo!!!!

We did not care for the food at California Grill...no matter how great the fireworks viewing was. Like others have posted...too many children and tables so close together and it was very loud. Sushi app. was the only thing we thought that stood out for us there.

A vote here for Cali Grill - my wife's favorite. The wine room is often less noisy with fewer/no kids.

I personally wouldnt go back to the calafonria grill, I think it is over hyped and the menue is totaly random. you also have a number of kids running around that you dont seem to get anywhere else in wdw reastaruntse :sad2:

we went there for my birthday and to be honest it was agreed it was the worst meal out of the 14 days there, the waitress also didn't know how to pour wine out of the bottle and managed to get it all over the place!!

I would fully vouch for either Narcoossee's and then have the benefit of the wishes fireworks or my personal favourite which is Le cellier in Epcot. Nice intimate atmosphere with brilliant food!!!

enjoy where ever you choose :thumbsup2

I second that.

Ok, so if I choose Narcoossee's to watch the fireworks... What time would you suggest I make a reservation for?

Thank you for all your great choices... Sooooo many to choose from, I am lost.

Wait... I just looked at the calendar. There is no wishes firework show that night :o( Oh well, back to square one...:confused3
