My dh and I are going away for the first time w/out our four children (11,9,twins 6).

When we are in disney with our children we do all of the char. dinning there is. This time around my dh and I would like to experience disney from an adult view :) which means no characters (sorry not this time;) )

Can you suggest some great places just for adults to reconnect and enjoy each other :)

After 13 years, I am really looking forward to just being with my dh

More grown-up places we've enjoyed:

Flying Fish (although we were there w/the kids)
Artist Point
Le Cellier
Tutto Italia (again we were with the kids)

I thought Narcoossee's was a bit overrated, but okay.

We are going to try Citrico's on our next trip, and maybe Jiko, but I'm not sure we'll fit in 2 adults-only meals on our trip. Both of those get rave reviews from what I've seen.

And of course, there's Victoria & Albert's, but I haven't made it there yet!

What kind of food do you like? Are you on the dining plan? If so, do you want to stick with one credit meals or two credit meals?

Here is a list of places I would say have a more adult type atmosphere, and I may have missed a few but many we have eaten at and at least seen:

Magic Kingdom - Not really any more adult oriented specific restaurants
Animal Kingdom - Not Really any more adult oriented restaurants
Disney Hollywood Studios - Mama Melrose's or Brown Derby (Possibly These Two!)
Epcot - Le Cellier (Canada), Coral Reef, Chefs De France or Bistro De Paris(France - kind of obvious LOL), Tutto Italia (Italy - obvious again), San Angel Inn (Mexico), Teppan Edo or Tokyo Dining (Japan).
Boardwalk - Flying Fish, Big River Grille & Brewing Works
Contemporary - California Grill
Dolphin - Shula's Steak House, Todd English Bluezoo
Grand Floridian - Citrico's, Narcossee's, Victoria & Alberts
Swan - Il Mulino New York Tattoria, Kimono's Sushi Bar
Wilderness Lodge - Artist Point
Yacht Club - Yachtsman Steakhouse

DH and I just returned from an adults only trip.

In our experience, any restaurant will be not be a totally adult experience because there are kids virtually everywhere you go (not that it is a problem).

It was just nice to eat when we wanted, to not feel rushed or restrained by our daughter's rapid decline when hunger strikes or choosing to skip a conventional meal and have a make your own salad at BC marketplace when we got back from the resorts.

We missed our daughter like crazy and every family we saw enjoying their kids made us miss her more, but it was very nice to experience the parks like we did on our honeymoon 13 years ago.

You will have a blast and re-connect no matter where you go or what you eat!

Oh, you are going to love this trip without the kids, and I promise you will only think about the kids for the first few hours..lol.

Flying Fish, Artist Point, Jiko, Tutto, Le Bistro, IL Mulino, Blue Zoo, just to name a few, lol.

We just returned from a kidless trip. One of our kids has a severe shellfish allergy, so we used this trip as an opportunity to overdo seafood. We had mussels and the seafood tower at Fulton's, in downtown disney, sushi at Kimono's (Dolphin) and a fabulous dinner at Bluezoo in the Swan. The Swan and Dolphin seem to have many business travelers, so fewer kids, at least that was our experience. Have Fun!

When we took our adults-only trip in Dec 2006, we decided to try some places we had never eaten before - Le Cellier an Ohana. We had a really great time and the food was wonderful. It was really nice being able to enjoy a meal without having to worry about 4 other plates before mine (this time I only had to worry about 1 other plate besides mine :goodvibes ) On our next trip, we ended up taking the kids back to Le Cellier and they all loved it as well. Maybe next trip, we'll bring them back to Ohana. Have a wonderful trip - just the 2 of you>

You didn't mention where you are staying, what kind of food you were looking for and if you just wanted to eat in the parks or go back to the resort and get a little more dressed. We are empty nesters so we try to at least have two really nice meals. Second alot of the prevous recommendations. Love Fultons at DTD. Jikos is good at AKL. California Grill. Blue Zoo, Yatchsman Steak House. Citros. Can't go wrong with LeCellier. If you go to Flying Fish, you can hang out at the Boardwalk and go to Atlantic Dance Hall or Dueling Pianos. You can also get over to BW from Yatchsman, Todd English's Blue Zoo, Shula's (way, way expensive). All in all, you will have a great time. Have fun!

My DH and I did a short, adults only trip in December. I highly recommend the California Grill. It was fantastic. Although there were small children sprinkled throughout the restuarant, we were seated in a section with only tables for two. We had a fantastic view of the MK. The food was excellent. The wine list was extensive and we had a wonderful waiter, with 20 years of experience, who picked a lovely bottle of wine for us. The nighttime view of Wishes from the observation deck was awesome.

We have the Tables in wonderland card, but even with the discount, our dinner was still pretty expensive. Yet, for the overall experience, it was worth every penny. We drove to CR and parked there. It was also nice to be able to walk into the MK after dinner.

For more info - see my TR in my siggie. I have some nice pictures from the observation deck!

I really hope you enjoy your adults only vacation. I know that we did!

My Dh and I decided to do the deluxe plan, we just needed some feedback on dinning.

I was able to get into Calif. Grill on 4/3 when we arrive for 9:30pm, the MK has fireworks at 10pm.........fingers crossed will have a great table to watch them too. (I know for sure we would never go with the children, LOL)

I did look into Bistro deFrance, and it is not on the dp - but it was worth a shot.

I did inform my dh, that I do not want to eat anywhere that we normally eat with the kids :) First trip just the two of us, I would like to try new things ;)

thanks again

P.S. (I am so excited, but the mommy guilt has hit too:confused: )
