Looking for advice/opinions on which restaurants in DL, DCA, DTD, and DLH that give you good food at a "closer to resonable price".

I know, I know (sigh), it is Disney after all, but whatever advice or opinions you have on this would be greatly appreciated. ::yes::

Thanks to all of you! :earsgirl:

DCA:

- Pacific Wharf Cafe for bread bowl soups and salads, bread from the adjacent Boudin Bakery tour.

- Taste Pilot's Grill for burgers, chili cheese fries, onion rings

Grand Californian:

- Whitewater Snacks - your basic snack bar just inside GC via the DCA entrance/exit.

DL:

- Bengal BBQ - bbq on a stick

- Hungry Bear - burgers, mainly for the location overlooking the river and near the train tracks

- Avoid Pinocchio's Village Haus - agonizingly slow service

Best bet outside the parks:

- I'd vote for Mimi's Cafe across harbor, right next to Hojo's

Rancho de Zocalo in Frontierland has huge portions of Mexican food (haven't tried the BBQ). The nachos are enough to share. We generally get the combo plate and nachos and its more than enough for two adults and two kids. I agree with Taste Pilots at DCA. Again, very big portions that can be shared. I always check out what other people are eating as I walk up to a place to check out the portion size. I agree that the Village Haus is slow but you get a side salad with the pizza, another great optioin for sharing. Bengal BBQ is great for a snack but that is one place I think the portions are a little small. If my DH were to order enough to satisfy his appetite he would have to order at least 3 skewers! Still one of my favorite places. Great place to snack while you wait for your Indiana Jones fastpass to come up! Redd Rockets Pizza Port also has large portions of pizza, pasta and salad. My advice, always order less than you think you will need. You can always order something else if you are still hungry or just have room leftover for churros and Mickey Bars!

DD and I like to share the fried chicken plate at the Plaza Inn. The sandwiches at the terrace belle are also big enough to share, and adults can always order a kids meal.

Redd Rockets Pizza and Plaza Inn both have large portions. 2 adults can usually share - unless you are very large eaters.

Our food budget strategy is to eat breakfast in the room/on the way to the park. Yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, nuts, fruit, trail mix, etc...

Then in the parks we eat one 'big' meal (Redd Rockets, Plaza Inn, Blue Bayou, etc..) and maybe one 'snacky' meal - fries, Bengal BBQ, etc.. and some snacks. Many days we just have one meal & snacks.

Mimi's on Harbor, next to HoJo (our favorite hotel) also has large portions and a great kids menu. We usually eat there two or three times each trip.

At DCA - Taste Pilot's is really yummy and Corn Dog Castle (soooo good!)

At DL - Lunch at Blue Bayou isn't that steep and I really like the cheeseburgers at the counter service restaurants.

I vote for Plaza Inn and R2P2

Rancho was good but I'm not sure how their new menu which rolls out next week will be-

I love bengal but for a meal its rather spendy

oh and now they have burgers and such back in Tomorrowland Terrace (who *knows* what they call it now) its a pretty good deal and quite good
