We are planning on spending 12 days at Disney next year and would like suggestions on restaurants you think boys would enjoy. Their ages are 17, 14 and 11. Thank you in advance!

I have two boys, ages 10 and 6. They like the Sci Fi at MGM, Chef Mickey's at the CR, the Hoop De Doo at FW. My boys have never been to the ESPN at the Boardwalk but I'd suspect that your boys would probably like that too.

Happy Planning!!

My boys have always loved Teppanyaki since the day it opened. They are in their 20's and one teen now. It never gets old. Also, they love Sci Fi, Ohanas, Portobello Yacht Club and they used to love the Fireworks Factory when it was opened. ;)

Just steer away from characters! We went with the inlaws including 13 year old brother-in-law in 1996, and he was in his moody, hormonal, "this is uncool!" wonder-years stage and we had to watch him roll his eyes and moan and groan about all the character meals we had. We harassed him mercilessly of course and had Jafar bring him a birthday cake at the long gone Soundstage at MGM and he was mortified. His sister (DW) was in heaven picking on her little brother.

Anyway, I'd recommend Sci-Fi.

I think also Broma-AKL, MK -Calf. Grill.,Ohanas you could even eat at CRT at dinner just to be up in the castle when they don't have the princesses. The Mexican, French, (Marrockan-which has belly dancers LOL) and several others at Epcot, and Sci-Fi, and several others at MGM. As you can see you have so many to choose from.
Have Fun :cool1:

I will second this! Our older son turned 13 during our stay. He endured breakfast at CP but flat out refused to join us for dinner at 1900 Park Faire. During our late May visit, our ds did enjoy dining at Marrakesh (Now at the top of his "must do" list for October!), dinner at Boma (2nd on his Oct. list), dinner at Kona, dinner at Cape May Cafe, and lunch at WCC. He did not enjoy dinner at Alfredo's.

So much really depends upon the kid and when the "first visit" to WDW occurred. We have been going to character meals for years and frankly it has always been fun. It's part of our tradition. However, you haven't gone long enough to establish a tradition, it may be an "issue". We have two character meals booked; 1900 Park Fare and CRT. My "boys" that are going are 17, 20 and 24. Of course those same kids babies when we they went the first time. ;)

Try the ESPN Zone at the BW. They'll love it.

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe at MK has ribs and chicken. Very good :sunny:

Try Cal Grill one night and time it so you can watch the MK fireworks (Wishes) while you are dining.

We love the BBQ sandwiches and spicy french fries at the Flame Tree BBQ in AK.

If they like fish and chips try the Rose & Crown in Epcot. My family loves the Teppenyaki at Japan also. The chef cooks your food in front of you and it's a lot of fun. The biergarten in Germany is also fun and the buffet is pretty darn good.

I've heard the Earl of Sandwhich in DD is great. We're going to try that on our next trip and what boy doesn't like a good hearty sandwhich?

Have fun.

Our 3 ds are 17,15 and 13 and they will put up with the characters as long as they know its all you can eat food. Their favorites are ESPN at the Boardwalk, Rainforest Cafe, either AK or DTD, Mexico, Ohana Breakfast, just for the food, Hollywood and Vine, no charcters but all you can eat dinner. They hate whispering canyon and have asked not to go there again. They like crystal palace lunch and dinner for the food factor, but will pose for a picture at my insistence. Knowing they get one good meal a day they usually cooperate with us. The other is a counter service of what they want, usually burgers etc. They like Pecos Bill, Electric Umbrella, The American Place at Epcot and Studio Catering Co. at MGM. I think thats the name, its by indiana jones show. We didnt have such great food at chef mickeys dinner last time, so I think we will skip it this time and maybe do LTT in MK.

My DS also demands that we go to Bahama Breeze, and LOVES the Comedy Club. He also likes Coral Reef--it's been a tradition. Mexico (San Angel) same thing--that's our first meal at Epcot tradition

Our boy AND our girl were both begging to go to ESPN after the guy waiting in front of to ride Soarin' told them about the TVs in the bathroom stalls. Glad my four grand could provide such a quality experience for my kids. :flower:

Our boys favorites include ESPN, Cape May Cafe, Le Cellier, The Plaza & the Concourse Steakhouse. In April, we were pretty disappointed in the Concourse Steakhouse, it was crowded and the food was surprisingly poor.

Our DS16 loves LeCellier. He actually missed our PS on Friday because he wasn't feeling well, so we'll just have to make another for the next day or two. We've also done ESPN and Big River which he liked. We're trying Biergarten this week.

I have boys that are similar ages and have been to the world many times. They hate the Marrakesh (belly dancer). They love Boma and Teppanyaki. They prefer meals without characters.

Thank you to all who responded. Where is the California Grill and is it expensive? What time would I need to make the advanced seating arrangements in order to view the fireworks while eating?

I have never been, but I heard something about the Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge which has a cowboy theme and I heard that its great for boys too.

I would think Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club - burgers, fries and ice cream (including the Kitchen Sink!!)Yes, you definitely need PSs (or whatever they are called now) for the fireworks at Cali Grill and YES, it is expensive. The food is good. We enjoyed it.
