Best resorts outside of Disney?

Best resorts outside of Disney. My number one choice is to stay at least one night at the Four Seasons and utilize their pools, water parks, ect. One day. But what other resorts off Disney property have the fab pools, rooms, just a whole lot of wow to them? Who can compete with SAB at Disney? Where do you prefer?

SAB is great but it can get very congested.

Offsite Wyndham Bonnett Creek (hotel fine for just one night but renting points for a week is really the way to go)

the Universal Resorts also have lovely amenities but I’d feel cheated if I wasn’t doing the parks.

One night pre DVC we often will use one of the hilton properties in DTD, they now offer disney perks.

JMHO but staying @ a value combined with one of the WPs is a nice option too as to water features.

The resorts at Universal are great. I’ve stayed at Portofino (my personal favorite- the rooms are gorgeous), Royal Pacific and Cabana Bay. There’s also the Hard Rock and the newest addition, Sapphire Falls. They’re all beautiful.

Wyndham Bonnet Creek has two nice lazy river feature pools. Orange Lake and Reunion Resort have beautiful water feature pools. Also Marriott's Lakeshore Reserve has a gorgeous lazy river pool.

Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld

We stayed here a couple of years ago when we did a Sea World / Universal vacation and were very happy with it. It’s a very large facility with a nice pool area and good food options. We stayed there again last year for two nights before our Disney Beach Club vacation. I was able to get a really good rate using reward points, but they do add a nightly resort fee.

I’d like to find something similar to stay prior to our Disney Cruise this summer. I wouldn’t mind staying at the Renaissance again, but figure there must be some other reasonably priced options that are compatible in amenities. Mostly looking for a resort feeling with a nice pool area.
