Hello all,
I am considering several different deluxe resorts for our vacation, and was wondering what most people thought was the best for a family with a small child. (3 yrs old)
- Yacht Club
- Beach Club
- Polynesian
- Fort Wilderness
- Boardwalk

We were originally going in August, which would have had me leaning towards the Polynesian simply because in the hot weather, it would be easy using the monorail to the MK and Epcot. But since we have changed our vacation for mid October, we are looking into other options. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Christine

I vote for Poly as a first choice..With small kids you are very close to the MK and you have the monorail
My second choice would be the Beach Club because of the pool area..
The Wilderness Lodge would probably be the cheapest

Well... alot of that depends on what you want... do you want to be close to the parks? In the thick of things? close to MK? or more laid back? for laid back, I really love OKW... I know it's not on your list.. but it's my favorite... because there is a little less hustle and bustle.... if you wanna be close to MGM and Epcot, then BW is your place.... If you wanna be close to the petting zoo at Fort Wilderness, then Wildreness Lodge might be your place....

BTW: no matter where you stay, try to get over to Fort Wilderness if you little guy/girl likes animals... the petting zoo is great!!! and best of all... its FREE!!! except for the pony ride... :)

Have fun,
Paul

No matter how much money I had I would ONLY go to the All-Star resorts, especially movies since my kids are under 6. It is very family friendly, especially child safe, pools are fantastic, and the kids areas are great. The huge characters all over the hotel grounds make for a wonderful adventure especially for a 3 year old. The rooms are just fine. I think the poly and other deluxe resorts are definitely more geared to adults, just my opinion, but my little one LOVED, I mean ABSOLUTELY LOVED the All-Star Movies resort and all its themes. Transportation around the world is so efficient and easy (we always use car rental) that the monorail distance and park travel was never a problem.

I know you mentioned deluxe hotels, but I would seriously give the All-Stars a second look... what ever you decide, you'll have a nice time.

Among your choices, I'd go with the Poly first and the BC second. The boat rides to and from the MK from the Poly would be lovely for your little one, as would both pools at the Poly. The monorail can take you to the Contemp. for a meal at Chef Mickey's or a boat ride to Fort Wilderness. The Poly has some outdoor running room for a child (but beware the golf carts), spacious rooms and a peaceful environment. It's not overstimulating, it only takes a moment to get outside, and the grounds feel more like part of a guest's territory than is true at the BC. It is also easy to get to from MK and Epcot. The Neverland Club is right there, too.

I throw in the BC because I like it best for an adult trip, and Cape May and Beaches and Cream are both very nice with a little one. The Poly is more magical (water parade, views of castle, open-air boats, monorail); the BC has more for an adult to do within walking distance (World Showcase in particular).

Have fun whatever you choose!

All of the disney resorts are very accomodating of children. There's something for all ages at each location.
