Best resort for single traveler OKW or SSR?

Going in March by myself, as I am thinking my sister will probably back out and DH will be in Clearwater for Phillies spring training. I know both resorts are large, but which would be easier for me? I won't have a car so I will have to rely on buses. I have never done a trip alone before and am a bit nervous, but excited, too!!!

If you want a sofa to sit on for TV watching or otherwise, pick SSR. I am guessing you have a studio. OKW's studio has 2 QBs.

I like SSR better than OKW because all buildings have elevators too.

I'd say SSR as well: for a single the second bed is useless.
Also having DTD at walking distance is easier to hope there to eat or people watching.

of those i'd say SSR for this situation though OKW will be better if your sister ends up going. Personally I'd likely look elsewhere such as BWV or BCV due to location and options.

Definitely would love to be at BWV, but they are booked. And OKW is the least amount of points, so that is attractive. But I do think that watching tv from a bed would be uncomfortable. If I end up going by myself, I can see myself spending more time than I usually would in the room. So it will probably be SSR. The resort is so massive, now I just have to figure out what area to request! Thanks!

Book your best choice now and wait list the other options if you have any available wait list slots. You mentioned cost, you could even get greedy and WL BW standard if you wanted.

I've stayed at both as a single and yes, I preferred SSR, as most people here said for the couch-put my feet up, drink my coffee, and watch the Disney "propoganda channel" over and over.

Im not an SSR fan at all, but having said that I agree with others that the studios there are better if you only need one bed.

I would definitely wait list the other resorts though. BWV, BLT, BCV

I would suggest the Grandstand, request to be near Carriage House.

If you look at the map, that first building in Grandstand is across from the pool, and the shortest walk to the Carriage House.
The bus picks up first at Grandstand, and last at the Springs, so if you see you have just missed the bus at Grandstand, you can walk over to the Springs and catch it there. It is a short walk to both bus stops.
However, it is not the closest walk to DTD. Someone else will need to tell you where to stay if you are planning to walk to DTD and want to be closer.

I had a studio in Grandstand that overlooked the golf course, so it was private and quite pleasant, relaxing view.

I keep forgetting about this. I checked once and, since OKW points are so much lower, the points for one are very little more than for a studio elsewhere. Thanks for mentioning it!

WOW! Thats a great idea! Those one bedroom units are simply amazing! They have made my stay in ordinary hotels almost unbearable. I have been so spoiled!
