It's out first "official" trip to WDW for the entire family (DD 5yr old & DS 4 yr old). We went last year with DD for 3 days & stayed at ASM. We want someplace more comfortable this time. Anyone recommend a great resort for the younger kids?

:cheer2:

We like the Poly. The monorail is great as is the zero entry pool. :)

I'd recommend AKL or FW cabins. Cabins have much room for kid play and naps. The full kitchen is a money saver for meals, especially if you're kids will be ready to nap/sleep when you could have lunch/dinner in the cabin. FW also has lots of outdoor room to run though pools aren't nearly as nice as most resorts. AKL is less expensive than a monorail resort but you'll have to always ride a bus. We think the AKL activities and animal views are worth always riding the bus. AKL does also have a zero entry pool as do Poly and Y&BC and others.

After two wonderful stays at Pop this year, we decided to splurge and stay at the Contemporary this Sept. during free dining. Pop was a lot of fun, nicely themed for a small child, and oh, did I mention cheap :) , but we really thought that it would be nice to be WALKING distance to MK. I love the idea of not having to rely on anything but our own two legs to get us to the park first thing in the morning. I think that it also much more likely for us to stay for Wishes or Spectro if we don't have to worry about how long we'll be stuck in the bus line afterwards. We also considered the Poly and GF, but decided to go with the least expensive monorail option.

We stayed at the Contemporary in March. It was great being so close to MK and being able to walk back in the afternoons. It's on the Monorail which is so convenient. Chef Mickeys is great. I know alot of people don't feel it's that "magical" but my DS was very taken with the hotel and wants to stay there again for our next trip, but he's going to be disappointed because we're going to be staying at the Poly instead for our trip in December. The Poly is on the Monorail so getting to MK and Epcot will be nice and easy and I think I'll enjoy the theming of the Poly.

We loved the WL with our 2 and 4 year old! We stayed 3 nights at CBR while DH was at a conference in Miami and didn't go to the parks those days. I didn't care for CBR as we were so far from the pool and the food court, but it also wasn't our original choice for hotel, so we went with it. I loved the pool at WL, loved Whispering Canyon (DD still says: I promise to eat all my dinner, to love my brother...) and loved the boat to MK! I thought the boat was faster than the monorail as the monorail from the Contemp has to go to the GF and the Poly before the MK. As an added bonus the WL is less expensive than the monorail resorts and all the rooms are being rehabbed right now with a finish date of this summer!
