We are going to try to rent points for November 07. I am going down with my family and honeymooning friends.
I am taking care of all of the details and wanted to get your opinions of the best DVC resort for WOWing my friends and my DH (maybe I could convince him to buy). We have never stayed in a DVC resort.

My friends, although they will be honeymooning, are not terribly romantic so nothing too frilly. They will be bringing their almost 3 year old DD so that might be something to consider also.

Also, how does the lack of maid service affect your vacation? I don't want them to be dissapointed because they don't have that service daily. I am sure that I will be fine with that but I tend to worry about every detail when it comes to other people. :confused3

Thanks for your help.

IMHO... BWV Boardwalk view should do the trick. If you really want to splurge then get a GV! :thumbsup2

Well, I think you and your husband should try a one bedroom suite at Old Key West so you'll have a jacuzzi. Bring some candles and champagne. Have no idea what to recommend for the non-romantic honeymooners. Still trying to figure out why, if they know it's not going to be romantic, they're bothering with the expense of a honeymoon?!?!

depends - does your husband like the mountains or woods - then VWL - it is also the closest DVC to the MK (for the 3 year old)

if he likes city atmosphere then BWV. it is on the BW so the night time entertainment is right there.

if he likes beaches - then BCV.

for old florida there is OKW.

SSR is somewhere in between BWV and OKW - it has a city atmosphere but it is laid back at the same time - hard to descript.

I agree that it all depends on what they like, but here's an early morning view from my recent stay at BWV (Boardwalk view)

Thanks for the replies so far. :thumbsup2

I have always wanted to stay on the Boardwalk myself but I don't know if the others would be drawn to this one like I am. :confused3 and I don't know if it being in the vicinity of Epcot is any draw for this trip. Also, not having CS dining available right on site is a huge drawback (packing up 7 people to head into Epcot for CS does not sound like fun).

DH and I will be bringing our kids as well (6 and 8). They don't have a huge preference for any particular park but they do like pools. SAB looks inviting but I think the kids would be hard to watch in there :confused3

I guess I have shed the other couple in a bad light by saying they don't plan on being romantic on their honeymoon. What I really mean is that they are more into a fun atmosphere than a candlelight dinner and moonlight strolls type atmosphere :confused3

Anyway, I think at this point, I have narrowed my choices to...

OKW - spacious accomodations, childrens on site activities, value
BCV - luxurious, SAB, close to many nice TS restaurants
VWL - grandeur, proximity to MK (but concerned about transpo to other parks)
