best resale price??

who has the lowest fees if i were to buy a small (50 point ) contract? I have heard around $400. BTW why do i never see VWL resales???

$400 seems to be the minumum in my experience. There are some VWL resales out there, but it's a smaller resort, like BCV and so, fewer owners.

Get on the e-mailing list for each retailer. The Timeshare store has one, and Shontel at "DVC by Resale" have newsletters and you can see what's for sale before they get on the general board.

Disney has the lowest cost for closing on resales. It is zero.
The charge of $84 per point on their resales includes transfer and closing costs. You can pay by credit card and for an add on of 50 points that saves you about $10 per point in closing costs and the wait of 8 to 10 weeks on buying a resale through a broker.

I am in process of buying 200 points at VWL through a broker and it is not as easy as buying from DVC but on a bigger contract it is cheaper especially if the contract comes with banked points.
I have also bought add on points from DVC for a resort that is not my home resort. I bought the points at lunchtime and stayed at the resort that night using some of these points.

The cheapest is to do it yourself. That's what we're doing with the 50 pt OKW contract I'm selling. Short of that, the cheapest I've seen is Timeshare Transfers. They will do it for $250, $200 if you buy it on bidshares. I assume that doesn't include the transfer fee but doubt anything else does either.

DW and I just completed a resale with the Timeshare Store for 80 points at Vero. the totoal cost for the closing and all fees were at toa of $375 and that included everything related to closing costs.
We intiated the process on 1/05/04 and mad our reservations on
2/16/04 for July at Old Key West. The process was quick and smooth for us. Everyone at the timeshare store was helpful and accurate. We used the services of Jerry. The DVC Memebership Services were great in helping make the reservations. They also assited us in getting all the new memebership information.
