Best rental car company if returning to a "different" location?

Flying into MCO, flying out of TPA. When renting a car, most companies (maybe all companies) charge an extra fee if pick-up and drop-off aren't the same location. Does anyone have any input as to a rental company that doesn't charge a fee, or perhaps charges a lesser fee, in that situation?
:3dglasses muchas gracias

I have found that National does not usually charge a drop fee. What dates are you traveling? Maybe we could help find you a good rate.

Last October we got a rental from National for midsize one way from MCO to Tampa. The total was $185 for the week...no drop fee. When I made the reservation it was actually cheaper for the one way rather than returning to MCO. I don't know why.:confused3 I think sometimes they start to accumulate too much inventory at one airport and need to move them back (I'm sure they deal with lots of one ways between MCO and Tampa). I would keep checking your dates maybe you will get lucky and catch a good rate.

Check the milage... I have two National contracts. checked on one a while back for a Florida one way rental. Yep, no "drop fee" but I was charged milage.

Actually the contract has as much to do with what you get as the car company.

Oh boy! Any help is so appreciated! Arriving MCO 9/19 2pm. Departing TPA 9/29 4 pm. We're looking for a minivan and have Nat'l, Alamo, Budget etc memberships. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up about this. I just checked and it is for unlimited miles. Whew!

With National it can vay depending on what contract Id you use. If they DO impose it, it can be quite hefty .....I got quoted $250 for dropping in Ft. Lauderdale! YIKES :scared: That's almost as much as the rental price....
Good luck finding a great rate.

I have a car reserved from Dollar, picking up at MCO and dropping off at TPA, for a quick weekend trip in August. When I booked it online my quote did not mention a remote drop off fee.
