We have decided to rent a car for 4 days. I have booked with Alamo but have heard they have the longest lineups so got to thinking about which company would be the best.

Which company would you suggest for quick and easy pickup. Are the lineups really that long. About how long are we looking at waiting. We are getting there about noon on a Monday. We need the car to go to Tampa so we are definately getting one. We are travelling with an almost 4 year old and a 5 1/2 year old and was wondering about car seat laws as well. Is it worth bringing the boosters on the airplane or should we just rent them.
Thanks for the input

A lot depends on the time of day as well as which flights have some in. Usually Alamo has the longest line, but the last two times the line was non-existent. The good thing about them is that you can choose your car, but they can be pushy with the insurance.
We've had good experiences with Budget, National, Avis, and L & M. We also don't mind Hertz and Thrifty (both offsite) when they have good rates because their shuttles are great.

we have used budget and have never had a problem with a the wait. this time we are using alamo quicksilver, just because the rate for the minivan was very cheap, 1 week @ $168 total.

I swear by Dollar Car Rental. The two times we've used them we were given a complimentary upgrade without even asking! We'll be using them again in March.
