We are a family of 5 & the cruise always seems totally out of our budget. However, I see many others with 5 in their family that do the cruise.

We would love to cruise in November - possibly a 4 day & then just plan our own land vacation. We have have AP's & belong to DVC so we wouldn't need passes & would probably stay at OKW.

What would be the best way to go about this? Where would I find the best rates?

When I go to the WDW website a 4 day Bahamian cruise comes to about $759/person, however, on Mousesavers it says we could do it for about $459?

I have been to Disney numerous times, but the cruise thing is all new to me! HELP!

I just booked two ajoining rooms, inside cat 10 for my family of 5. Best rate I received was from cruise.com 3,100. 4 day wonder in August. Good luck

I always checked the DCL website for prices and always got quoted around $7,000 for a 7 day cruise. Same thing with Expedia. Since our 10 year anniversary is next year we decided we would just bite the bullet and spend the money on the cruise. I called All Seasons Travel and was surprised when I was quoted a significantly lower rate than the DCL website. We ended up with 2 connecting cat 9 rooms for $4,700. Still not "cheap" but much easier to save in a year. We did get an oceanview room so it would have been less if we chose an inside cabin.

We too are AP holders and always get a great deal on the resorts. The cruise thing is all new to us and I hope I got a good rate. They say book early, early, early! The earlier you book, the better the rate.

I checked with All Seasons, DU and DCL and All Seasons was the cheapest. Their website is www.allseastravel.com

Good luck and let us know how you do!:wave2:

Ditto what married2grumpy said. We booked thru allseasonstravel also- family of 5- 2 cat 9's.... $4037.
Much less expensive than a cat 4 or above for our family of 5. :)

We are also a family of 5. We have cruised twice and plan on cruising again. Because we book 11 months before (with points and cash), we have not been able to reserve two cat. 10 rooms, at least on the decks that we want, - because of this, we book two cat. 11 cabins. Our last cruise, I upgraded at the port (I asked first if there were any cabins with verandah available and only if it was not too far from one of the cat. 11 cabins (I knew we would be going in and out of both cabins, laundry for the kids, etc.). We are hoping for summer 05 announcement to see if we will be cruising again (will book 2 cat. 11 again).

If it is possible to book way ahead of time do it. We booked a year in advance and went through All Seas Travel. My guess is that TA's buy up some rooms very early and lock in the price. I recently checked how much our April cruise would be if we booked it now, there is no way we could afford it. The price almost doubled. I think that is why so many people rebook while on board. Hope this helps.:)
