I just booked the Boardwalk for next Feb with my AP best rate. Our current APs expire in Dec. and I plan to renew by then. As long as I renew by the expiration date on my current, I won't lose the best rate, will I?

Also, is this really the "best rate" or is it possible that better rates might come out?

I booked a standard room for $235/night. We're just going for 3 nights and we only plan to hit Epcot, and maybe MGM this trip. We'll be returning most likely in October.

Sheri..........
I have posted this on several threads concerning the Best Rate program, I think that is what you just booked, I was very confused about that whole program, I thought that if I booked via the "Best Rate Program" that if a lower rate came out it would automatically be applied, this is the response I got from CR via email, unless they have changed their minds once again, or depending on who or whom you ask but thought people should really know the clarity of this "program".
Dear Cheryl,

You didn't even address my question...................
MY QUESTION WAS.................
IF I BOOK NOW AT RACK RATE USING THIS SPECIAL PASSHOLDER BEST RATE PROGRAM
DOES THAT MEAN THAT WHEN PASSHOLDER RATES OR FLORIDA RESIDENT RATES ARE
RELEASED THAT I WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET THAT BETTER RATE ????
hope that is clear this time..........................

I'm befuddled. :confused3

I know $235 a night is less than rack rate, which I *think* is $305 or therabouts. But should I still keep an eye out for better AP rates?

You aren't the only one that is befuddled, but perhaps the dates that you booked are "low" season, I don't really know the answer to your question, I just know that I thought the "best rate program" would have been great in the sense that I would not have to keep checking for the elusive codes! Although I did not like all the rules involved with the program, I also cannot answer your question about getting it cheaper.........sorry.

I'm just going to tell myself it's cheaper than the AAA rate and leave it at that then. :sunny:

You would not be able to cancel a Best Rate and rebook to get a better rate without losing your one night nonrefundable deposit.

I have been looking to see if anyone had their best rate reduced after booking and haven't seen where that's actually happened. Of course, nothing lower than the best rate has been released for current bookings.

:confused3 I thought it said you could cancel up to 6 days before the trip???

So if something horrible happens, and I can't re-up my AP in Dec. to keep this rate, I lose my deposit??? I wish I'd been aware of that. I mean, I plan to renew in Dec when my dates are up but if something happens and I can't, I planned on downgrading to the AAA discount or rack if need be. :(

no, this is one of the things that stinks with this best rate program. you are locked into the ressie money wise and lose your deposit for the first night. you can change your ressie, to the same resort or upgrade it without any penlety. they actully let me change a ressie from the "BRP" to a AP rate. no charge. because it was less the 120 days out.
