I have a deployed soldier who is volunteering for Operation Outreach in his spare time. They are in need of school supplies for the Afghan children among other items.

I was looking at prices of a case of 24 spiral notebooks ($31-$45 depending on # of pages in notebook) and a case of 96 pencils ($12+) on Amazon.com because it would be free shipping and they would ship to the soldier's APO address.

Wondering if teachers or homeschoolers know of any better pricing or better avenues considering shipping costs?

Its been a very long time since I've shopped for school supplies. :goodvibes

Also considered waiting a couple months for the back-to-school sales but then I'll need to add shipping myself.

Did you check staples. If you spend over a certain amout shipping is free.

I would go into a Staples or equivalent and tell them what you need. They may be willing to help in some way like giving a discount, covering shipping etc. It's worth a shot.

We've always used dollardays.com or dollartree.com to order our donation supplies.
