Thinking of staying Moderate instead of Value during our next trip, mostly b/c I heard that pools were better at the Mods (incl. pool slides).

For those of you who have stayed at Mods, which has the best pool or set of pools for kids? We will have a DS9 and DD6, along with a DD 3 months or so at the time.

CSR, CBR, POFQ, POR? Which one has the best, and why?

From our experience at all the moderates and your kid's ages, I would suggest the best pools in this order:

1. CSR - larger slide for older kids. Beautiful pool area of all, IMO.
2. POFQ - fun dragon slide and nice pool area.
3. POR
4. CBR - smaller slide and very small pool area for the size of resort. If you want a nice pool, I would not recommend CBR. We were just there in Jan. and were so disappointed in pool area. Pictures online are very deceiving. Pool was so crowded we could not get a chair (in January!!!!!)

Best pool amenity of moderates ! You have a very large, beautifully themed pool. LOTS of seating, some of which is covered which is great with little ones. Baby pool is not "tucked away" from big pool and located close to exit point of slide in main pool. It was great for us when we had kids in both. Slide is great. Playground is awesome and right there, as well as largest hot tub, food/bar, bathrooms, and an arcade. The view is of the lake and main buildings. We also thought the quiet pools were very nice & peaceful and great for a quick dip. :sunny:

I would have to agree with racheltyler in the order of the resort pools. The only thing I would add to it is the size of the resorts. CSR is a very large resort and your room can be quite a hike from the pool area. POFQ is the smallest of these resorts and no matter where your room is, you are just a short walk to the pool area.

From what I've heard and read CSR has the best pool of the moderates but...know where to request as this resort is very spread out and it's all in which room you end up in.

As for the other's the pools at POR and FQ are both very nice and if you stay at either of these resorts you can use both pools as they are considered "sister" resorts so you are allowed access to both:)

We stayed at CBR and while your kids would like the pool here at their ages as much as anywhere else, we adults didn't care for the set up...we like to use the hot tub and it's set right at the bottom of the pool slide and very small...had way too many kids jumping in it all the time and was not relaxing in the least because of this :( The pool seemed a bit small too...but that's just our opinion.

HTH's:wave:

CSR!

The main pool area has many things to offer. A 123 ft slide, an arcade, a sand volleyball court, the largest hot tub on WDW property, a pool bar and food stand.

CSR also has 3 quiet pools located in each section of the resort.

I've been worrying that the slide at CSR might be TOO much for my 6 yo DD. Can anyone comment how fast it goes or high you are at the top?

Thanks,

Mike

My then 6 yo loved the pool at CSR. She was hesitant at first to try the slide but once she did there was no stopping her. The pool area there is fantastic. I can't say enough about it.

Tigereye - The slide is great and your 6yo would love it. It's not that it's REALLY fast, just longer with some great curves...That's my DS's favorite resort because of the slide. :goodvibes
